Mckenna.Didn't even want to ask i'm sure in excess of 1k. They quoted me 6 hours@130/hr to do walnut blast as the "hook up price" because they cant fix my car

Do it yourself. Buy it for like $300-400, take 2 hours to install it, problem solved.

I've done a couple HPFPs myself and I'm a pretty amateur DIYer. Give it a go.

LTMW in El Monte will do it for ~$300 and provide you with a rental car free of charge.

I'm still having this issue. Except now in the mornings it almost always goes into limp mode Anyone have any tips for getting the dealer to replace the pump under warranty? The mods arnt a problem I was told just put the stock intake on. However my SA told me that since my pump technically passes their test they can't replace it for free under warranty. Which pisses me off because it's either the HPFP or something is seriously wrong with my engine as I already replaced pretty much everything else it could be.

I don't see how the DPs or IC have anything to do with the hpfp warranty. I'd try a different dealer or maybe try to talk with BMWNA and see what they say about it. I mean BMW extended the hpfp warranty because there were serious reliability issues with it - to deny the work based on dp and fmic seems crazy to me.

This does sound like a hpfp issue. However I dealt with some misfires just like this at 26k miles. I had injectors, plugs, and coils all replaced under warranty, but still had the issue. After walnut blasting, my misfires disappeared and never resurfaced. Could the hpfp still be faulty even if it passes the dealer's check tests?

That's what i'm thinking. It's funny because I told my SA before they did any work (injectors/HPFP sensor/walnut blast) I wanted the HPFP replaced and he basically guaranteed me it was not the fuel pump. I guess I try another dealership
