whats your price range? where are you located? what areas to drive mainly?
I was looking at 535/550 for my DD but i drive to the train station everyday and leave the car there for 8-12 hours. So i decided not to get too nice of a car since it would get beat up; etc, so i leased a GTI for cheap. residual + lease rates were gr8 when i got mine. Plus they include maintenance like bmw but are cheaper overall. only $23k-$30k. Any bmw is gonna cost you at least $31k+. |

YES!! and they can be had for less than 10k over 328 I believe. Within BMW:
128i stick, sport, leather- done cost effective fun option 335d load her up and enjoy- what a car (for a price)

I had similar motivations and found myself a low-mileage e46 325ci. Between the rock chips, curbed wheels, few small dents and paint issues it's far from cosmetically perfect but, like you, I bought it because I didn't want to care about that crap. The mechanicals are great and it runs like a champ; that's all that matters. If you can live without the e90's improved interior for your DD a low-mileage e46 is a great choice and easy on the wallet.
