Bluetooth for Music DIY in pre-LCI E90
Hello,
I have an 07' 328i with phone Bluetooth...but no wireless audio/music capabilities. This is how I got wireless/Bluetooth music in my e90. I ordered a Bluetooth Music Receiver on ebay for about 15 bucks and use a Female USB 12v adapter. Whole setup cost me about 20 bucks. Since I was sick of feeling around with my hand, trying to find the Bluetooth module...I just attached it to the inside of my center console. Works Great... I hope you all like, hope this helps someone! Untitled by richouston24, on Flickr (PS- Yes I know I need to touch up the interior console...waiting until the spring.)

Do you have links for the ebay postings? Or what exactly should I search for?

This is a link to the adapter that I bought. You can search "Bluetooth Receiver" but make sure whatever you buy has A2DP Stereo/Hi-Fi connectivity. The connection and sound quality is excellent, and you also get very decent battery life with the small Bluetooth receiver. although I keep mine plugged in most of the time.

No problem my friend. I have actually had this set-up in my car for quite some time, but hadn't seen anyone else post something like this.
Figured it could help someone out!! Hope you like it, take care.

Yes it is. Connected with wireless bluetooth ofcourse.
I've bought something similar for €12,- a few months ago. I'll probably never use it that much because of my Ipod interface but it's worth the few bucks |

I don't understand how these Bluetooth adapters aren't widely known. They are AWESOME.
People post about them like it's the first time they've ever seen such a thing. I've had Bluetooth audio in my car using one of these dongles since at least 2006-2007 some time. Currently, Xtrememac InCharge BT and kinivo btc450 are both great units that can be found for under $30. Have one of each in our household. Xtrememac also Makes a home version you can hook to any stereo system if you don't use something like AirPlay |

For some reason only my passenger side speakers play the music when using this device. Anybody know why? Thanks.

I have a similiar unit i had for a while. Quality is very strong can't tell the difference. Playing youtube sometimes is off due to data. If it doesnt play in high quality for the phone it sure wont through wireless. Pandora music on your phone play on point.
I paid like 10 bucks for mine. Also if its playing from one side check connections from the aux. Happened to me one time ended up not being plugged in all the way. |

do u have to control the sound volume like if u have it plugged it in directly to aux? or will it auto adjust volume?
Also does it pair up okay with iphone 5? does it turn on automatically if you have bluetooth turned on on your phone or u have to enable it each time? |

The volume is just controlled through the car radio/phone both...so normally I keep my phone at like 80% volume level and just use the car volume from my steering wheel. So all you need to do is connect it to your phone.
Yes it should work fine connecting to an iPhone... Quote:
