I have read both, The Game, and Lone Survivor, both are really entertaining reads. As far as classics go, if you have never read: The Catcher In The Rye, I recommend it. (It was my favorite as a teenager)

If you like true crime these are both really interesting: The Ice Man: Confessions of a Mafia Contract Killer , and The Art of Making Money: The Story of a Master Counterfeiter

Daniel Keyes- Flowers for Algernon
Bret Easton Ellis- American Psycho- Only read if you aren't easily disturbed; makes the movie look like an episode of Blue's Clues.
Samuel Shem- The House of God (especially if you're in a medical-related field)
Thomas Powers- Heisenberg's War
Any Kurt Vonnegut that you haven't read
David Sedaris- When You Are Engulfed in Flames

I see you listed The DaVinci Code, if you like this one then definitely read Angels and Demons. Hell, read that one even if you don't like TDC.

This is just to get you started. I could name good books all day but nobody wants to listen Are you into short stories at all?

Read the GOT series before all else. Fantastic series with a very well thought out plot and storyline. My only issues are that he will probably die before he writes the 6th and 7th and that once you read the first, you can't do anything else but read the rest.

Am I the only one who skips Daenerys chapters? Sometimes Jon Snow chapters too.

To be honest, I skipped all the chapters with Bran in them. I read everything else. I honestly have no idea what's happening with Bran, Hodor, Rickon and Osha.

However, I find Jon Snow and Daenaerys to be my favorite characters.

I read the first one. Fucking horrible and waste of time. My wife enjoyed it but I guess that's because she doesn't watch porn like I do. Serious it sucks nads.

1) The Blank Slate: The Modern Denial of Human Nature (Pulitzer finalist)

2) The Moral Landscape: How Science Can Determine Human Values

3) The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat: And Other Clinical Tales

4) Lying

5) Free Will

6) Outliers: The Story of Success

7) The Grand Design

As you can tell I'm a huge fan of non-fiction. The last fiction book I read was the davinci code probably 7 or 8 years ago, although I really enjoyed it.

Also, these aren't books but they're interesting nonetheless -

http://theoreticalminimum.com/courses

The "theoretical minimum" is a set of six courses on physics (classical mechanics, quantum mechanics, special relativity, general relativity, cosmology, and statistical mechanics) that are intended for a general audience. The only requirement is that you know basic high school calculus. The courses build, so one should watch them in the order presented (from top to bottom, classical mechanics to statistical mechanics).

A lot of my non-science friends have found these videos to be incredibly illuminating. Some of them even said that they wished that they had studied physics in college after watching them.

I just think that as a living being on this earth one should know something about quantum mechanics or special and general relativity, and these videos more than fulfill that need.

They're not full length courses that would be taught to an undergraduate physics majors. These courses are specially tailor-made for a general but technically and scientifically-savvy audience.

Oh, and the "theoretical minimum" is taught by a really eminent physicist (Leonard Susskind) who is probably on the short list to win a nobel prize some day. He's also an amazing teacher.

Seriously all that you need to know about Bran is that he was able to warg Hodor. Osha is just kinda creeping around and Rickon is god knows where.

Jon and Dany just don't do it for me. Not enough politico.

Concerning 50 shades, I don't understand how the prospect of being beaten during sex is arousing. Apparently the chicks like it though.

Ayn Rand "Atlas Shrugged". Good book, and funny how its still relevant to modern day society.

Be prepared for a long read, and it starts a little slow, but really gets interesting.

Kite Runner. Get the audio book if you have the time. it's narrated by the author which gives the book a ton of depth.

+1 for Atlas Shrugged and Moral Landscape.

If you've read Fight Club, "Rant" is from the same author (Chuck Palahniuk). Really liked it.

I also liked Lord of the Flies and Butterfly Revolution when I was in school. Both have similar themes (society going to hell). Lord of the Flies is boys on an Island. Butterfly Revolution is boy and girls in a summer camp.

King also mentioned the Iceman (Richard Kuklinski). I haven't read the book but his HBO interviews are really interesting.
