Equal pay for womenz. Because they are the minority of the working class and are upset because they can't attain the same pay wages as male counterparts with the same knowledge and/or degree. So this is to ensure that women are openly being treated equally on a compensation basis.

for a moment there i thought they had raised the minimum wage while everyone was looking for the missing flight.

What bullshit. If women really offered exactly the same value for less money, many companies would hire only women and put the competition out of business. In instances where men and women are providing equal value, they're paid the same. This will discourage companies from hiring women

I would imagine at least 50 more times before he leaves office so the cluster fuck can be enlarged 10 fold for the next guy in line to clean up.

I really don't understand how women don't make as much. I know it's a real statistic, but if I owned a business and I had an option of hiring a man at 100k a year or an equally qualified women at 70k a year, my work force would be comprised of nothing but women. How would men even get hired?

In a free economy, this would auto-correct itself. Sexist business owners could exist but they wouldn't be able to compete. So either, "equally qualified" women are being misreported or there is some artificial mechanism I'm not aware of that's screwing with the market.

It's because statistically women work less than men, are more likely to start work later in the day and end work earlier in the afternoon. Society has kind of pigeonholed them into the child-rearing role and assumes that they will be taking more time due to family functions too. Especially maternity leave which is bullshit because in a lot of countries paternity leave is also considered. Of course they have to actually have the baby and recover while men do not.

In a way the free economy has started to correct this as last I heard, we had more women in middle class jobs than we did men, but men still hold the upper echelons of big business and politics.

I say if someone can come to work for fewer hours but still achieve the same amount and quality of work then more power to them, those are the kind of employees that I want even if that means that I have to pay them the same amount for less time.

I believe it's because women in general are less prideful than men. They are willing to do more for less. It's free market and it pays accordingly. If there is are 25 VPs at Google and the women are making 10% less than the men VPs it's because the women are willing to take less for that position.

This would be a real topic if minimum wage was 10 for men and 9 for women. Alas this isn't the case.

Women do have that whole pregnancy thing to deal with where they can get several weeks to months off of work while being paid. As an employer, this can leave a very bad after taste. Especially when they take that paid maternity leave and when it's time to come back they phone is and let you know they decided to be a stay at home mom. Top quality.

If i were a large company where it was necessary to have a maternity program i would contemplate spending less on a woman's salary due to that maternity issue. Bottom line is that people are paid what a company feels they are worth. some times a company is under paying a person for the value they supply but that person may be ok with that or think they are at the pinnacle of their compensation value. In many other instances, employees are over paid because they are quite forward when demanding wages and pay increases. They basically sell their value to the person who signs the checks.

About half the number of times George W used it to get exactly what he wanted. Also about half of what Reagan did. The champ is Roosevelt, who did over ten times as many as Obama.

All of them are supposedly limited by the Constitution to do only things within their authority. For example the equal pay thing applies only to a limited set of Federal contract personnel, and has no impact on private employees.
