Won't do any good. Texas has left lane law and no one gives a sh*t. Texas has got to be the worst for having slow cars in the left lane. There are even signs on the freeways that state "Left Lane For Passing Only." When ever I am in Texas I can't stand it. You can come up on people driving below the speed limit in the left lane. You can ride their ass for miles, they still refuse to pull to the right.

New York is the same way! There will be NO ONE around for miles and they will sit in the left lane and get pissed if you ride their butt.
On the way up and back to The Glen, they're like moving chicanes. I don't even bother waiting for them to move over. I just swing around them.

I really don't understand why people in US have left lane fetish while driving slow. Yet when you try to pass somebody most of them think it's a race. I have Fit's and F150's attempting to race but then they are endangering everybody else. It is mind boggling.

I can see 20-30 cars in the left lane driving while the right lane is free almost daily yet nobody moves even when the traffic is slowing down in the left lane down to 30-40 mph. It's like buffalo, follow the lead over a cliff. I mind my own business and drive mostly in the right lane these days since it has become "the left lane".

Hmmmm, left lane here in RDU is typically 20mph or more only.

Same thing back in Detroit. Except it was every lane is 20mph or more.

A long time ago I went to a HPDE at Summit Point.

Was traveling from Ohio and I noticed that almost everyone in WVa kept getting out of the way as we were speeding along the fast lane.

It was awesome. When I got home I searched why and found they had that law.

+1

The older Toyota pick up trucks filled with "gardening landscape" workers drive me crazy. They'll usually drive in the slow lane, but will drive SO slow (30-40mph) that if your exit comes up you either try to speed around them and risk passing your exit or drive painfully and dangerously slow for about 1 mile until your exit comes up. Ah shit my blood pressure is going up now haha

"What drives me crazy,(er), is when the traffic is moderately heavy and I'm in the left lane, passing, and following a line of 6 or so cars, who are also passing, and the douchebag behind me is riding my ass and flashing his lights."

Can we just neuter these guys and fine them $10,000 instead?

In my experience, mr. low IQ described above in bold is a far bigger menace to society than slow drivers (who are also threat).

This guy (one of the commenters in the article) might be onto something -

I like the general idea, but I have a tough time thinking the government is looking out for the enthusiast driver, or any driver that would be frustrated by slow pokes. I'd be more inclined to think they are sick of slow left-lane drivers clogging up cars the cops could otherwise ticket for speeding. So ticket the guy clogging up the lane, he'll learn and move over, and then ticket the speeder.

That's ballsy in a state where they let people carry guns everywhere.

I see this all the time and I live in Georgia. I hope they start enforcing the hell out of it. People have no business in the left lane unless passing somebody...
