Question: Traffic Camera & Loaner Car

Hello people,

I took my car in to the dealer today to replace the CD player. My SA gave me a loaner for the day, and something happened on my way to drop off the car. By the way, I got a Hyundai Sonata V6.

Anyways, on my way back to the dealer, I crossed a yellow light and it turned red on me. The Traffic Camera on all four corners were flashing like crazy taking picture of me and my Hyundai Sonato.

My question is......can the ticket be traced back to me?

Thanks for any information.

Yes, if the following happens. Plate is run and ticket is sent to registered owner of vehicle, which may be the dealership. Dealership looks at records and sees that you had the car at the time of the ticket. Dealership narcs you out.

The car belongs to Enterprise.......which is located inside the BMW dealer.

same scenario would apply, just substitute dealership with Enterprise.

when you sign the rental agreement, they always make you initial "responsible for any tickets incurred"

here is SF, you are not only have to pay for the ticket, but also have to pay extra $50 filing and processing fee for the rental car company. Hopefully that's not apply to socal.

My understanding of the law is if your front tires already cross the plane of the intersection (past crosswalk) before the light turns red, it is legal.

It'll be an easy one to argue since it wasn't an actual cop handing you a ticket. The light was yellow right when you entered the intersection? Stick by that and you'll be fine.

I dunno if it's that easy theoretically...I mean the timers on the cameras are programmed to snap shots ONLY if you've crossed the line too late...

Just be like there was someone tailgating you and if you would have stopped you would have had an accident, so that's why you went through. Then be like the guy behind you stopped for the red and that's why he's not on camera

lol just my 2 cents

if its like it is here in florida, supposedly you can go through a few a month without being ticketed

ive heard stories of people going through 20 times in a month

ive personally gone through various ones about 5-6 times without being ticketed, usually once a month i fly through the 1$.25 one with my transponder under my ass

Could also be the guy behind did stop but after crossing the line and tripping the sensor, thus setting off the cameras.
