I understand this is an old thread about an old photoshop, but I'm replying because I find it interesting owning one of these cars today. I find the third tip look so off-putting that I just could not ever bring myself to mod my exhaust in this way. However, when I looked into how the e90 335i exhaust is designed, I thought about how welding in a third tip in the center would vent the cross-pipe without completely bypassing the resonators in the only place where you could access it without tearing open the muffler. Consider that most aftermarket exhaust systems either introduce harsh pipe bends or have barely effective resonators. The stock exhaust on the e90 335i is beautifully engineered to have a straight-shot through the dual chamber muffler with a cross-pipe that allows pressure to quietly transfer to the other side. Venting this pipe would decrease the flow resistance and allow a bit of sound to escape. This would be a good sport upgrade if it didn't look so repulsive. Thank you for showing me what it would look like in advance.
