Safari shows the non-BMW version, as well. (Safari is the Mac browser)

IE 7 in Vista is showing the article with time stamp of 7:18pm and mentions the BMW.

That's some crazy shit. Different stories with different browsers? wtf?

Must be them toobs getting clogged up on the interwebs I think.

Just yesterday a somewhat old man(Not sure if he was 60 but maybe close) was driving an M5 and honked at me and flew by me. I sped up a bit but he was flooring it and going all over. I didn't need a ticket in a diff state so backed off.

Just shows the older guys can be as crazy if not more.

It's 12:19 AM EST, and I get the same 3pm version from both browsers after clearing cache and cookies. I don't get it.

What''s really weird is that the first time I looked at the story (with IE), it talked about the BMW, and matched your Firefox screen cap. Now, when I look at the story, (with IE), it matches your IE screen cap. WTF ???

Not to worry. All of your browsers are correct, er incorrect...whatever.

A site like this uses a lot of load balancing and content offloading. They're just doing a piss poor job of it. See below...

First the firefox cap....

***********************************************
GET /adj/thestar/news;tile=1;sz=728x90;ord='%20+%20ord%20+%20'? HTTP/1.1

Now the IE cap...

************************************************** *8

GET /News/article/232846 HTTP/1.1

See all that shit in bold? That's IE session specific instructions to load balance off their BigIP/F5 load balancers. They figure a majority of the world uses IE, so they should load balance browser based sessions. I'm thinking based off of the browser user agent. Not an entirely bad practice as long as your web devs are not complete retards as it appears in this case. Simply put, they didn't update their references and now the stories are all wonky.

Going first to http://192.206.150.210 should get you to be able to read the story in IE. Go there, the link to the story should be on the front page...

Edit: Uggh, nevermind. Their load balancing is worse than I thought. If I knew the absolute entry point to the story I'd post it, but that would require more of my time, and frankly my givvadamn is about broken.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch......

It seems some people never grow up when they get behind the wheel. I used to drive much more aggressively when I was younger, but now, less frequently.

As of this morning:

In Mac OS X, every browser I've tried shows the BMW version. They must have fixed the loading issue.

(I tried Safari, Netscape, IE and Firefox)

It was really unneccessary to even mention the type of car he was driving. Did that add to the story at all?

They always mention type/brand of cars esp the ones that caused it.

Agreed. I'm over total aggressive driving. Not saying I'm not aggressive but when it comes to the point where I may harm myself, someone else or my car that's when I cut it off.

People driving aggressive in traffic or rush hour are just on Darwins waiting list. This guy just got lucky or maybe sold his soul
