AA is nothing more than a muffler delete - not an exhaust system...
BMW Performance Exhaust -or- if you want quad set up - go with Remus quad I've had both on my E92 and either sounds very good & both fit well. I've driven in friends car with AA exhaust - maybe some people like the constant drone that starts around 2700 rpm, but it's not for me.

I debated this a year before getting one. I picked Dinan. To me, the exhaust note was just a hair higher with the Dinan exhaust over BMW PE. However, it's a bit more pricier. Thus, my suggestion is the Dinan exhaust, or BMW PE.
Edit: IMHO quad/dual exhaust on a 328 kind of comes off like a poser. I have a 328, so there's no hate in this. I just did not want people assuming I was trying to trick people into thinking I was a 335/M3 |

Which is exhaust sounds the best is obviously a matter of opinion, but the most popular ones here are BMW PE, AA or muffler delete. They're all loud and sound pretty bad ass. But you should try and search them on youtube and decide for yourself.
As for performance, the BMW PE, magnaflow, AFE and Dinan are all full catbacks and should give you around 5 hp. There's not a whole lot of choices for quads but there are people that have done custom piping to get the dual exhaust 335 look. I'm using the Magnaflow. It's not very loud but has a nice deep growl to it.

RE IKON exhaust. No post cats on it and straight pipe all the way from headers back with the exhaust. Sound is really nice when you get on it but cruising its perfect I forget I even have an exhaust. Revving it pops and all that crazy stuff but makes it sound fast

PE is the "perfect" sound to me. Sure you can get more aggressive and louder exhausts but it's too much in my opinion.

I love my PE. Absolutely zero drone at any rpm and still a nice aggressive sound. If you want loud, this isn't a top choice, but if you want a good balanced sound I'd highly recommend the PE.

I just uninstalled my PE yesterday and put my stock back on. My car is so quiet now I cant stand it, I really took it for granted it was by far the best thing you could do for this car. Wish I had it installed from the day I picked up the car.
