Kobe Bryant is a walking legend. He gave NBA and the Lakers half of his life and is mentioned in the same breathe as Magic, Bird, or MJ. The last time I remember any one staying relevant for this long in his career was Kareem.
You and I are blessed to watch kB24 to lace up a pair of sneaks for the last 17 years. 7 finals, 5 rings and has proved himself to be of the GOATS in the history of the league. Even at the old age of 34, (more like 38 with his wear and tear with playoffs and Olympics) he is still easily a top 5 player on any given night.
You can't blame Kobe for Jim Buss f ing the team up royally by putting the wrong pieces together and hiring Mr. Pringles. The guy willed the lakers to the playoffs for god sakes.
Dude read the entire thread. There is no sarcasm font sorry. You will see I am Kobe's biggest fan and that post was for all the loser Kobe haters that think the lakers are better without him. Without Kobe the Lakers are nothing. I knew they would get killed. Outside of Howard, Kobe and maybe Gasol when he decides to play the lakers have a bunch of scrubs. You take Kobe out of the mix the opponents don't need to double team anyone on that team. Man on man the lakers are too slow. They suck without Kobe.

A young athletic pg is needed (even jarret jack would nicely fit) with Nash coming off the bench playing about 20 mpg. Get Ariza back so they have speed and defense on the perimeter at the 3.

Pick up OJ Mayo to plug in the hole until Kobe comes back and bring him off the bench for scoring. Add Ryan Anderson as a stretch 4 to complete the starting line up. Hill, Clark, Nash, Mayo is a solid bench.

Man, they got hammered last night... In front of their home crowd.

I'm afraid the only thing left is to save face on Sunday.

No joke. That was a disaster. Start the over haul now please. Give us some sort of good news. You know Phil wants to get back to coaching.

There was a news report yesterday that Phil was considering the Toronto Raptors job... And he gets to make player decisions a la Pat Riley.

To be fair, the Lakers were playing well once they sorta healthy and halfway figured things out. If they don't amnesty Kobe (I don't think they should or will), they can't really start to rebuild yet.

Can't get fair value for gasol in a trade who I'd rather keep anyhow. To make a trade work salary wise, some pretty big name players would have to come over and I dont think there are any takers.

I'd love to have mayo, but don't think the Lakers can afford him. He'll be looking to get top dollar next season.

Not big on ariza.....don't think he's done much on his last three teams. Maybe I'm being sentimental, but think Odom would do well on this team

Yep. That was awesome. The lakers did so well without Kobe.

On a serious note then need to get started on 2014 right now. Get DH signed and go to Home Depot and buy for sale signs for the rest of the team including DAntoni.

They need to let dwight walk. There is no way you can build a team around him, he is at best a third option on offense. He plays great man defense, but is horrible in the zone. And he always blames others when something goes wrong.

He is not worth a max contract and he is not worth the drama. Next year will be a crappy year again, but summer of 14 looks bright. They need to focus on 2014 when all contracts expire instead of trying to give dwight the max now.

I find it funny when people say they were swept because Kobe didn't play after getting injured in the final days of the season. Well, he play pretty much the entire season...Look what they accomplished....If it wasn't break down by Jazz, the Lakers would have gone fishing long time ago...

I an not a Laker or Kobe heater. I am a huge basketball fan. I think Lakers have no chance to improve unless Kobe becomes a team player instead of worrying about his own stats when he comes back next season. He has to show his teammates that he trusts them.

Stop acting like the Lakers would beat the Spurs with Kobe. Coach Pop would out coach Mike Dantoni in every aspect.

With no healthy PG on the team, that doesn't help either.

Gasol is still a superstar but the synergy between him and Howard is nonexistent. I watch the Grizzs play and they dominate the clippers with Zbo and Marc G. But if the lakers want to rebuild it will need to start by trading him. Because in no way Lakers are going to amnesty Kobe.
Ariza will work because he won't be asked to do scoring something that he is deficient at. But he will bring athleticism and defense at the 3 something
Lakers don't currently have and he probably will come cheap.

Mayo opted out of Dallas so maybe he will come. One young pg that would thrive on the lakers is Eric Bledsoe. He is leaving the clippers to get a starting gig somewhere but I don't think lakers can offer what he wants.

Eric Bledsoe would be sick, I hope he's not another Odom who only shows up for the team he likes.
