Big Shunt from Sebastian, lost a lot of practice and tuning time, where RBR is rebuilding the RB7.

Amen. Great pics, as always. Poor KK. It should be fun watching him overtake from the very back of the pack.

I don't see any news yet regarding if he will be allowed to race on Sunday.
But unlike HRTs in Melbourne, KK are hampered by an unforseen malfunction as he was attempting to set a competitive lap.

I'm sure FIA given grant him P24 tomorrow. And we shall see him charging up the field with plenty of fresh soft rubber for him to dispose!

He'll certainly be allowed to start the grid. If a driver doesn't meet the 107% rule, they can look at practice lap times as an alternative. There's no doubt that the Sauber is more than quick enough to join the grid, so I'd be absolutely shocked if they denied him a starting place.

Not sure if his Sauber is competitive enough on this track for a charging run up the grid, but I'd love to see it!

As far as race predictions, I think the fact that Webber + Vettel have an extra set of fresh tires is the killer blow. It's also the reason I dislike limiting the number of new tires you have available - it puts teams (within the top 10) with a performance disadvantage at a FURTHER disadvantage. It also encourages a conservative strategy in qualifying, which is boring for the spectator.

IMO ,if they want to limit tire sets that a team can use, teams should be allocated __ tire sets for practice, __ tire sets for qualifying, and ___ tire sets for the race. With an accompanying rule that tire sets used in qualifying CAN'T carry over to the race. The ideal formula would give you plenty of tires for qualifying (so that we get to see the maximum number of runs), and to give you a less-plentiful supply of tires for the race, requiring teams to choose their tire strategies carefully.

not long to go now and those pictures sure put me in the mood - think this one will be a good race although the podium maybe more or less predictable ...

What was the comment made at the end of the race when Vettel was talking to Webber (just after they got out of their vehicles)... commentators made mention of something being said but went on to say "i hope no one at home heard that..."
