Awesome!

They never show it, but Kevin and I got a long swimmingly, often having too much fun. We spent an hour talking exclusively in Jewish-Mother voice(after me telling him a classic about my Mom) to the point production had to ask us to stop lol.

Just watched episode 7... sorry to see, but it was a good run. I thought you carried yourself well throughout the show and came out of it with some valuable experience. Best of luck to you.

Thanks!

It was widely known that I did not go home for bad design or anything, I went home because I was not intended to make the final 4 lol.

Lots of things did not make the TV edit such as a fabricated handicap episode 5 like a 15 minute no drawing penalty and we all saw my steering wheel episode 6 which was in the top two easily, or in ep7 Camilos drawing had no number which was a rule he broke-meaning Shane should have been in his place. It just got silly the longer I was in it.

they likely know the winner before the first episode is ever aired. i personally can't stand reality shows for this reason. they're not reality at all.

it's still cool to see your progression and any exposure like this is a great thing so very nice job, man! very nice!

Thanks!

I started out thinking I had a good chance and was working for the $100k 6 month design contract. Then a day into filming the prize changed, no longer a design job as the prize. The longer I was in it, the more I found myself getting "TV'd" and seeing I was never meant to win.

Oh well.

Still an amazing experience.

I was told by a lot of people I was the only one that made them laugh.

That's because the judges (and most likely the producers) are always all over Camilo's nuts....disgusting to watch.

There were big Camilo fails, Tv will never air it though as it goes against the portrayed character of DESIGN GENIUS.

I watch the show every week and it's pretty entertaining... That chick though, Darby, she makes some weird faces every time the camera is on her. HA! it's just funny.

Sucks you got booted bud... But I think it was going to happen one way or the other. Camilo will probably win it and they'll keep Darby chick in just so they have female audience.

Darby was very awkward on camera, most so eating as she looked like a nervous chipmunk when she ate.

I am fine getting booted as it was clear early on I was not intended to win. But finding it so apparent sucked and the way I was sent home was comical that they couldn't hide the BS anymore and admitted to sending me home because they wanted the specific final four they had.

Made the best of the show, used it to market myself to get my Detroit area car job, my goal all along.

I have accepted the position as Head Designer at www.wmgta.com/us

Divisions include Saleen, Bob Lutz's Ls9 powered Fisker Karma-Destino, small Chinese electric cars and other side projects such as boats, watches etc.

Very excited.

I could have wound up at GM as designer number 181 in a cubicle, so yeah-smaller company, but much more impact and variety.

I secured a townhouse in Rochester Hills Michigan and will be moving in about a week. I'll buy a house a year later after I feel secure in the area/job etc.

Congrats on everything you've accomplished so far. In the end, you still came out on top.

You'll love Rochester Hills. Downtown Rochester lights up all their buildings with LED lights around Christmas and is pretty neat to check out. Downtown is small, but there's some really good places to eat. Only about 20/30 minutes from Downtown Birmingham, which has even better restaurants.

Also, you're only about 30 minutes from Woodward in Birmingham, so during the spring/summer/fall, the weekends are usually a pretty good time meeting up with all the other enthusiasts.

Awesome, thanks!

Bonus is I am across the street from the BMW dealer and nearby Troy is the home to Saab Parts NA and a dealer for service of my two Saabs.

You talking about the dealership that's across the street from Audi near M59 expressway?

Yeah I know exactly where you're at. Great area. Grew up about 4 miles away. I'll warn you, if you go a little south into Sterling Heights, it becomes very...., diverse. A lot of very rude people, but you're from NJ, so it might not be anything new to you.

Good luck in your new venture! Keep an eye out for wheel eating pot holes.

Trust me, I will-I lived in Detroit for 4yrs for school. I am in no rush to replace the 45 series 17's on my DD for lower profile 18's.

Congrats on landing, what sounds like a Dream job!

I have a couple of friends who work at GM and they like it, but they're not designers, they're more of the Executive type. Big difference there.

I don't know you, but I think that you'll like this job better because being a smaller company, you should make more of an impact on the products because you're not with 50-100 designers (or however many GM has). You're head of design, so that doesn't hurt either!

Now, onto the real business at hand........Can you get us some parts Discounts?

Just kidding.............Congrats!

Hell, I hope I get a discount...an Ls9 front clip with carbon brakes would be nice.
