I'd take it, especially if they are giving you a 6 month warranty.

what do you think is a fair price for this car if it's indeed the garage queen that they claim it is?

Run numbers using Kelley Blue Book, NADA & Edmonds, average the three figures and go with that figure.

By all means check the car thoroughly, but seems like a rare car. Hard to find a 4yr old car with 3k miles on it. I'd lean more on buying the car than not. Get all the fluids changed out if you can by the stealership. Haggle to price as low as you can!

I'd definitely ask the BMW dealership next door about making it CPO. I don't understand why a "corporate" car wouldn't be moved over there to be sold as CPO. Something like that would sell in a heartbeat near me.

If you do get serious about buying it check under the engine cover for evidence of rodent damage. My e92 came from a very similar situation, and had a brand new ignition harness on it, along with a significant amount of the foam under the cover missing. Honestly check EVERYWHERE for evidence. The last thing you want are a million electrical issues down the road because some mice found a beautiful home.

I had to drive 6 hours to get it, but I paid less than that out the door for a CPO with not too many more miles.

They're not going to CPO a car that is out of the original manufacturer's warranty.

Sure they will, that's when most get traded in, and then sold as CPO. That's how I got mine. It'll have warranty well into 2015, and it's a 2009.

The CPO warranty isn't all encompassing or anything, but it's better than nothing.

best price they offered me was $30K with 3 year / 36K miles. walked out and they called back and offered $29K w/ above warranty.

it was taken in for the recall work, FR and RR tires were replaced. FL and RL tires were original. bumper was also replaced too. it was taken in several times for battery replacements, including the first time where they had to jump start the vehicle...

looked like a brand new car though.

i'm trying to figure out how much i would lose on depreciation if i sold the car in 3 years, since it's such a low milage vehicle. its still going to be alot. anyways i would like to keep this car for much longer than that. i'm still feeling guilty of getting rid of my honda at 130K pain-free miles.

Saw this car listed for sale the other day....I think 29k would be a fair price with the warranty.

Nice!! I have seen ones with 20X the mileage for similar price... Drive it, get a PPI from the BMW dealership next door (maybe negotiate that as well), get the warranty negotiated in the deal as best as you can, and be done!!

How does this not make sense? If you're ready to spend $28k for a brand new 335i with an N54, do it.
I'd argue to say thats probably the only car like that in the country. Less than 3k miles is out of this world.

I saw the ad, and it was for 27~.
You stayed they wanted 30.

Go offer 27 with 3/36k CPO.
Ask what is the deductible for CPO if any?
Negotiate further.

But looking at 3/36, now I'd buy it.
