Agreed. I used to only shop at Express. After a while I noticed that their clothes aren't exactly of high quality. I bought a bunch of polos from them. After a while they had holes and either stretched out too much or shrunk too much.

Lately, I have been buying some stuff from AX but mainly from Banana Republic. I really like the materials on the BR polos, especially their lux line which feels fantastic. They have stuff on sale all the time so I usually just wait until there is a good deal. I get polos for about $25 a pop and so far they have been great (almost a year).

I'm guilty of having Ralph Lauren polos in just about every color but it has to be the interlocking cotton which is the smooth textured version. I don't care for the mesh version. They last forever which is why I buy 'em.

Love my RL Polos..I probably have at least 20 different colours. Great for business casual dress. They feel like great quality. I have one in particular that's probably at least 10 years old and it still holds it's colour and shape. They're pretty expensive here in Canada (relatively) but I always pick up a stack whenever I'm at a Premium Outlets Ralph Lauren in the states.

+1 on interlocking, they just feel more comfortable to wear

there are so many different kinds from RL though.

i have the some PRL that are slim fit and quite nice for $30 - $50. the best one i have is RLBL ($200). It's easily the nicest overall but not necessarily worth the money over the others.

if you're slimmer give the Puma BMW M shirts a try. I have 4 now including 2 collared P's and they are great. more sport / casual than the PRL stuff.

I get whatever's on clearance. I still have Nautica polos I bought 5 or 6 years ago at Macy's for like $12 each. I do like a Claiborne one I got as a gift recently though. It's very soft and comfortable.

I have a couple of Chaps. They suck. Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren are my favorite.

Do you wash yourself or dry clean? I've noticed dry cleaning keeps them in good condition.

I pretty much wear Polo Ralph Lauren. I work for Macy's so I get them on the cheap (20-30% off purchase price)

Gant. Really good quality IMHO. Relatively expensive, but like with many things : you get what you pay for.

I buy when House of Fraser or John Lewis (I am UK based) have a 20% off event.

My wash throws all my Lacoste polos in the washing machine, then they are air dried. After that, I will iron them. I've never, on any brand as a matter of fact, had issues with the collars. I bet you are washing them wrong.

My favorite are the under armour golf polos, definitely great for work in the Texas summer and great for casual wear as well. Typically run around $70 but I love that the collar always stays in form.
