Seems like E92 M3 will have a hard time catching up with this new beast from MB!

MB CLK63

You couldn't on the last 'black' version they did, which made it kind of pointless for a track based car.

So, you're comparing a 6.3 l engine and $120+k price tag to the 4.0 l M3 for $60k???
I don't even think they are in close territory.

If the Bimmer wanted to beat this one, they would have put in a 6.0l engine, and come out with 750 HP, and blow the doors off it...but that is not on their mind...

+1....and I'm really feeling that the MB will be blowing the doors off the M3. I'm guessing it might be only slightly faster. I bet slightly tuned, the M3 will be right up there with it. Seems liek a hefty price tag for what you are getting, but then if you're a big MB fan, have at it!

I would take the the new M3 over that Benz everytime, the CLS63 AMG is a nice car, but it isn't an M3, and from reading the reports of teh last 'black' Benz no one seemd to think it worked.
A C63 Black would be the better choice, and that will probably launch teh same time as the new CSL!

That thing is a monster, but like berm said you have to compare it to the M6. I'm sure if BMW wanted to make a race-spec M6 it would be a lot closer. Either way, this thing is an animal and must sound like a monster with that 6.3L motor

Like people have been saying...i'd rather have the less powerful M3 and pocket the change in difference.

Mercedes has always been going down the route of big displacement V8 and V12s with some of their AMG motors being supercharged. BMW has usually stuck to smaller displacement naturally aspirated motors (until recently).

Hell...if we're taking about that kind of money, isn't that near Porsche Turbo money? Maybe I'd get that instead.

im sorry... i like it... i think MB makes good use of that lower bumper / \ shape... the m3 doesnt do a good job of that tho...

in addition MB also has a more boxy, sportier look unlike the previous generations with very rounded corners.

for example.. the e90's front bumper compliments the V'ness of the hood and likewise the bumper does a little \__/...

and based on price... i dont think the clk63 should be squared off against the m3...
