OK, it's official.

And it's been 8 months since my last European Delivery...

So it was time to place my order.

Below is a photo of Rich Brekus, manager of product planning at BMW NA, announcing my order for a 550i in carbonschwarz.

He also announced that the delivery date will be 15. October at BMW Welt in Munich.

I know this is random, if the Z4 has been out for about 5 years now, Do you think it will be facelifted within the next 2 years? Since I am assuming the rule of thumb is a facelift after every 7 years a model is released?

ja, you are right, quite random. BMW typically redesign cars after 7-8 years. Has the Z4 been out that long (almost 5?) I would have thought less but haven´t given it that much thought.

siriusinvestor, in fact the Z4 has gone through the facelift last year (2006)! With the facelifted headlights, tailights, and engine upgrades. If you meant the redesign, which is every 7.5~8 years for a BMW it is rumored that it will happen in 2008/2009 after the introduction of M3. Check this link for reference!

Congratulations! Interesting, because just for the heck of it I was pricing out a 550i on the "build your BMW" site about an hour ago. I have to admit, I was a little disappointed at how it got so expensive so quickly. Beautiful car, just a little pricier than I realized.

BMW international claims that the new face lift 550i does 0-60 miles in 5.1 seconds. Which is awesome if true
