its easy to say...but like Martin Brundle once said "silly name...serious job.."
we've seen both Ferrari and McLaren's lollipop man forgot the fuel hose was still attached and release the car.... there might be many reasons...but all down to the most simplest cause...he just simply forgot..... e.g. Jenson's mechanic forgot to remove the airbox plug before the formation lap....etc etc....

Anyone have any knowledge on how Ferrari's system works? Does it require confirmations from multiple sources (each wheel and maybe a misc engineering) via remote or does it just take 1 operator making observations?

Problem is a race can be won by tenths of a second, like happened this weekend. So LP guys are between a rock and a hard place. They have to release the car asap while making sure nobody is around. THAT is a job I'd never seek .
