Mike, I'm starting easy dude lol. Like 500CCs

Maybe a Suzuki GS500F, I checked out a few bikes today. It had a good feel to it. I'd love to have a Ducati one day.

We're going to have to do another shoot in the future with our bikes

some of you guys are idiotic..

a 250, 500cc being a glorified scooter?

I was raised on a 250, had my way through the displacement sizes could probably run circles around you on a 250 while you had some bang for the buck 600cc.

It's not how fast your bike is, but how well you can ride it and actually be able to use what the bike has.

I guarantee you that 99% of the posters on here aren't able to push a 600 to it's limits let alone an R1, gixxer 1000, etc..etc..etc..

It's GREAT to start on a Kawi 250, GS500, SV650 and so on... build the fundamentals or riding before you hop on ANY class R bike (basically a race bike with lights and blinkers).

I have had friends that have started off on 600s, 750s, 1000s and are HORRIBLE riders.. who rely on the bike's power to get them into trouble.. which you WILL end up in.

I wish the US was more like Europe, where you legally HAVE to start on a smaller bike and build your way up by proving your safety and knowledgeable riding skill.

This isn't a car, something where you have 4 wheels on the ground and a cage to protect you.. a 600cc bike will OUT accelerate a dodge viper from a dig.. sure it doesn't have the top end but it's FUCKING FAST and they are NOT something to be bought as an ego statement. I can't wait to start reading the "aww man I totaled my R1 today" threads..

This all takes me back to the day we watched a kid who bought a Kawi ZX-10R drive directly into a wall and total a bike with less then 10 (yes, that's TEN) miles on it.

^^^^Speaks the truth. You tell 'em Matt! Oh btw, you have a SEXY girlfriend!

250cc for me was FAST ENOUGH. Holy shit that thing pulled away from cars QUICK. Especially since I am quite the skinny guy, anything bigger than 600cc would have got me killed. You have to buy a bike to match your body and weight.

I assume you are talking about people that buy a +600cc as their first bike, and have never ridden a bike before?? If so, i'm scared standing 10ft near someone that has never ridden a bike regardless of cc.. Dirtbike and bike alike.

Typically, yes. I've seen a few (and I mean a handful of a hundred) be able to learn the ropes on a 600, but they will ALWAYS be less of a rider in MY eyes then someone who started learning on a bike that won't tear their head off the second they make a mistake.

Too many people with too many big egos.

I started off on a 250 made my way up to riding all sorts of 1000cc bikes (gsx-r1000s, R1s, CBR100RRs, and the dreadful first release of the Kawi ZX-10R).. and still find myself MUCH happier on a 600cc/750cc bike.

Looking at a ducati 749S Dark at the moment.

I had:
suzuki 04' SV650 (track bike now)
suzuki 04' GSXR750 (totalled--not my fault)
yamaha 05' Warrior midnight

From all of these bikes, I'd say that the Warrior was my favorite, but it a perfect world, you'd have a power cruiser AND a supersport bike.

My first bike was my current Kawi 750cc and I couldn't agree with you less. Just like saying somebody should learn to drive in a car with under 100 hp. What good does that do? It doesn't. You can't "learn the ropes" of a fast bike by riding a slower one. I think my Trek 1000 was enough practice for me to go out and ride my ZX-7R with 0 crashes and 0 drops in the year and a half I have had it.

I agree w/ what he said. My friend went out and bought his first bike- honda 600rr, driving home from Oceanside he didn't make the turn and crashed into a guardrail. Both his roommates had to explain to his parents that they would be going to their sons funeral.(24 yrs old)

If this was the case, i think there would be alot less fatal crashes in the US. HEre is the thing, in the US you get an 18yr old kid that goes to the bike dealer and picks up a brand new R6,gsx-r600,R1...etc, and then goes out there thinking they know how to ride.

I was never an "AMAZING" rider, i started in europe Racing Bikes when i was 12, i raced a 250cc, and i was never able to win a race, it was a very tight field of racers. Meanwhile I have had alot of different bikes, and can still out ride alot of people.

I knew that Racing bikes wasn't my "FORTE", so thats when I started my Go-kart carreer and went all the way to testing F-3000.( formula 3).

My roommate and his bro have HD Nightsters. They like them. It's they're first bike so it's perfect. His bro wanted a R6, but after he rode a buddies R1 he knew he made the right choice going with the HD.

I was only curious, no need to get your panties in a bunch. You seem angry, strike out at the tranny bar again?

Seriously, I just wanted to know. I've never seen it spelled with a c before and was wondering if it was a phonetic typo or intentional.
