GTR Nismo put out the same lap time. And I'm sure the C7 Z06 will match that time. Quite unimpressive really for a 730hp Ferrari with that price tag.

I agree but I think that's exactly what they were trying to do and go for the NISMO time.

It still won't beat the 918 Spyder's time though...

Not sure if I pay any attention to nurb timings anymore as a selling point. Had this been 8m --s, I would still buy it, slap a Kreissieg system and I would be one delighted sucker Looking forward to the speciale version...

Not impressive considering the 997 GT2 RS with only 620 hp did it in 7:18 and that was with a 6mt. PDK in that car would have easily been around 7 min.

It just shows that this street first, track 2nd car has serious chops on the track. It's seems like NA sports car nirvana to me. Love it.

For track times look out for what the LaFerrari "standard" and moreover XX will deliver...

I would like to see some of you guys drive around the ring to see your impressive numbers. I hear this all day long, my m3 isn't fast enuff - let me SC it. Hot damn, i think Civic SI has more potential than i can get out of it. I blame me the driver, who isn't as skilled. :-)

More and more horsepower has diminishing returns on a road course. The difference to lap times with 200 vs 300 is much greater than 600 vs 700.

Considering it's a GT car and not a pure sports car, matching the GT-R is impressive to me. And, it has presence like no GT-R can match.

Wondering if it's "tuned" a la Chris Harris Ferrari fiasco, though.... can't help that part.

Amazing how many on here dribble lap times out of a keyboard as the all mighty.
Then to go drive around in a city or suburb, maybe 5 or 6% of their day.
About 50% of the remainder is spent blabbering about lap times on the Internet.

Porsche sucks.
BMW sucks.
Ford sucks.
Nissan sucks.
Lexus sucks.
Yawn...

Go driving and enjoy it, whatever it is in.
I'm pretty sure I would enjoy ringing out an old Beetle as much or even more so than driving around in a 700 HP exotic in 2nd gear.

Whatever floats your bran flakes I suppose.

The F12 is GT on roids. The fact that it set the same time as the GTR is a testament to not only it's phenomenal looks, sound, exclusivity, but also its performance.

Well if it was an "official" Ferrari test then you can bet that's the case!

I'd wager that car is tuned for another 50 hp running on race fuel, has a totally reworked racing suspension, and sticky tires borrowed from the F14T that Alonso and Raikkonen drive on weekends

I actually wonder why the F12 and its 599 predecessor are considered GT cars. They're lightweight, powerful, with a stiff suspension, enormous brakes and tires, and are built for handling. Seems to me like they are proper sports cars. A GT for me is more along the lines of Aston DBS, SL65, Maserati GT, Bentley Continental, etc.

The only real Ferrari GT is the FF, and its predecessor the 612

Its pretty heavy at 3800lbs and more considered for cruising.

I get what you're saying. I too consider them all out supercars/sportscars BUT the fact that they are front engined and more catered to exotic interiors and compromise, makes them a GT car in the eyes of Ferrari and Journalists/Critics.

Now would the 599xx be considered a GT? Because that thing to me is the furthest thing from a GT. More like a ATIFCOC - A Totally Insane Fucking Car On Crack.

The F12 is not a GT, its a sports car like the Aventador. Mid-rear engine does not by default make a superior sports car.

Ferrari doesn't classify the F12 as a GT. The F12 is not heavy when compared to an Aventador. There is nothing impressive about such a time. The only thing it does is prove the unbelievers that mid-rear engine is not any superior to mid-front engine, among them, Mercedes SLS AMG, Mercedes AMG GT, Lexus LFA, Nissan GT-R, Corvette.

The f12 is a grandtourer.. albeit a very very fast one. To me it ticks all the gt boxes on paper.. cant say I have had the pleasure of driving one but based purely on what I have seen and read it does not excel as a gt... the gearbox is bad in auto, the steering rack is like a 458 and it has the throttle response of a bullet... so in spirit its more of a nasty supercar posing as a gt.That 7m 08s time is actually pretty impressive to me, whats the m6 cp time at the nurburgring out of curiosity ?

Yup it's a GT car. Also who cares about Nurburgring times except for the race versions of cars? The F12 looks and sounds fantastic, and is a small homage to what Ferrari used to be, much much better than the LaF IMO. 95% of people won't be able to get that 'ring time anyways, or go anywhere near it. It just doesn't matter at all.

Bottom line, isn't the most important thing about a car how it makes you FEEL?
