He also informed me that since the intake is off already, it is a good time to replace my oil filter housing gasket which is leaking on to a drive belt and into a coolant hose. If my belt were to snap, it could get sucked into my crank seal and would be a nightmare. So yeah I wasn't expecting to drop $2200 bringing it in for a blasting. |

Yeah good idea you got it changed. I did mine when I got the car as mine was leaking a bit. It's not to hard to DIY and much cheaper but if you don't have time to do so it's normal. I'm really thinking of taking of my intake manifold once winter is over to see how dirty they are and then I'll take my decision. I'm just afraid to dump 600$ for one service ya know and my car gets totaled or engine seizes or something haha. I know there's slight chance but it's always in the back my head |

I got walnut blasting done for $350 down in Burnsville.
I have DCI, FMIC but no tuning and my car acts weird in the cold temps also. Plus its damn near impossible to get it above 210f in winter, and my tires spin at 80mph if I do a pull. Winter sucks. |

Hope this doesn't wear out the engine real bad, or the rod bearings which seems to be happening once a week on here but more on the N55s. |

How many miles on the spark plugs? Cars typically run better in the cold, more oxygen per molecule = better performance.

Yes I couldn't agree more about the air density. My log with the AWD shows IAT of 33F at 20PSI (with Meth) VD shows 522whp/490wtq. Not sure how accurate but I don't see numbers this high in warm weather.

Even though I'm no scientist, I'm pretty sure "more oxygen per molecule" isn't really a thing. Otherwise an O2 molecule would no longer be an O2 molecule.
How about if we go with colder (aka denser) air contains more O2 molecules?

Of course you are basically correct - cold air is denser and so there are more molecules per unit volume at any given pressure. However, "more oxygen (atoms) per molecule" is actually a thing. Single oxygen atoms rapidly combine to form molecules with either two atoms (very stable and common in nature) or three atoms (much less stable), the latter known as ozone.

I'm using pressurized canisters of Hexavalent Chromium, tapping a hose for my own use. Causing nose bleeds but I heard that's normal.
