If the war ends tommorow Iraq will still be a poor country with alot of internal problems. I think its on the extremly unlikely side that the country would see any kind of economic boom.

You will own the currency of a country destroyed by a war and with incredible internal conflict that breaks along religious lines.

buy low sell high FTMFW...... if you can buy now... hold on to it for a couple of generations..... and your grand children might become the next bill gates... who knows.... but for the time being, there are much better investments that my money rather go to....

I own some Iraqi Dinar....bought it a few years ago...needless to say it has been up 42% since I have bought it. Granted it is still at a fraction of pennies compared to the USD, for the amount of money I spent on investing in some, the potential return is outrageous, if not, I lost a few hundred bucks (big deal). The only way it will appreciate vs the dollar and other countries is: it must become freely exchanged and traded in the open market, become unpegged to the USD, and the most obvi reason, Iraqi must sure up its country, begin exporting its massive oil reserves, and become a region that foreign captial and business will be attracted too. Granted I know these provisions are a long shot (very long shot), it is worth the chance given the current exchange rate.

Just my $.02.

There are many websites, ebay being one ......just store it in your house somewhere. Make sure they are the new bills though (should say Central Bank of Iraq)...also a good check is to scan them under a blacklight to ensure authenticity. There are several denominations, I chose to get lower ones...(if in the event the Dinar actually appreciates) will be much easier to exchange (tax purposes).

The military will see to it that the "war" never ends. It will turn out just like Korea. Wasting your money buying it IMO.
