Car looks like a GTE car, but they could still be in GT3. That's quite a variety of GT cars next year in the combined series.
Its in GTD, which means its is a Z4 GT3.

They'll be on track at the same time but in different classes. This Z4 is running in GTD (the old Rolex GT), RLL's Z4s run in GTLM (the old ALMS GT).

thank you for the help.... correct me if im wrong but isnt it a very small margin between GTD and GTLM as far as lap times.... so whats the major difference between the 2.... i thought that was major concern when the run groups were being put together

I can't find the technical differences between the classes at the IMSA website, perhaps someone else can chime in.

But yeah, the lap difference between the 2 classes should only be a few secs based on the recent practice runs, it'll be tight! It may have been on twitter or here, someone mentioned the GTLM Z4 running just 0.6 secs faster than the fastest GTD car (remember that was just the 1st practice run though)

Mr Sparkle : Nice avatar, Fishbulb!
(I have him on a T-shirt)

Can't wait for next season. I recently discovered ADAC GT Masters on Speed2.
So many Z4s to watch!

Daytona really shrinks the gaps between the two classes due to the long stretches on the oval. The GTD cars are a lot more slippery aero wise versus the GTLM/GTE. The trap speeds were pretty neat to see, with the fastest GTD car +6mph on the fastest GTLM in the traps.

Turner reported they intend to slow the GTD cars to provide more gap from Alms GTs . Good for them he said since Vettes, Vipers, etc are walking them on straights.
