If anyone really thinks that Chipotle is amazing. I feel really sorry for you.

Its very average Americanized Mexican food. But a big step up from Del Taco or Taco Hell

Ha love this thread. I'm a manager at Chipotle. Been there since spring of my senior year in HS....4 long years ago ha. It's such an awesome job. I'll probably go into Chipotle withdrawal when I graduate and go get a real job. But would you believe in the 4 years I've been working there I've only had 5 or 6 burritos total? Never had a bowl either ha.

Always get tacos or a quesadilla (they don't put em on the menu 'cause they slow the line down if everybody starts ordering them). My tacos are extra steak, hot salsa, corn salsa, sour cream and a good pile of cheese with a sliver of guac on one or two (I love guac but I've decided it abominates the taste of everything else on tacos so I usually eat it with chips or quesadillas).

Okay can't talk about it anymore...this is making me crave it.

Ahh, correction my Canadian friend....if you live in or near Toronto Chipotle just opened our first international store there. Fresh ingredients delivered three times weekly (we don't have a freezer, only a fridge...it's order what you need until the next one comes and if you run out you have to go to another Chipotle to borrow), prepared classically (marinated, braised, grilled, chopped, mashed....you name it depending on the ingredients we're talkin) 100% from scratch. No powders, no mixes, no substitutes. Naturally raised meat (no antibiotics or growth hormones, free range or deeply bedded pens), rBGH free dairy products, organic beans. The guy that started Chipotle is a classically trained 5 star chef who graduated from the Culinary Institute of America if ya needed any more convincing that it's the real deal! ha

It's only a college job, but can't ya tell I love it? haha

And for you Londoners we're opening one there this year too.

I'll refer you to my previous posts on this. We're not just a big step up from Taco Bell and Del Taco...we're in a whole different class. In fact you'd have to go to a white tablecloth restaurant to get the quality of food we have. We have some of the highest food costs in the industry because we don't settle on anything....everything has to meet the highest of standards or it gets returned to the supplier, the methods we use are entirely classical. The guac is 100% from scratch (none of that powdered mix junk that Chilis and some other wannabe's use), the chicken and steak is marinated 2-12 hours, the barbacoa and carnitas braised, the salsas all made from scratch 2x a day, the guac is the same I might add, the green peppers, red onions, cilantro, jalapeños and oregano we chop ourselves 2X daily as well...we fry our own chips and hard tacos. The chicken you eat tomorrow was clucking probably Saturday or Sunday. We don't have a freezer so we have to order just what we need or a little more for each of our trucks. Steve Ells graduated from the Culinary Institute of America as a 5 star chef. Our ingredients are higher quality than most set down restaurants, and fresher than probably all but the very finest of them. That's why you pay around $9 for a drink and a burrito now.

If you can say that about Chilis or On The Border (not to say I don't like some things at both of those places), much less Taco Bell or Del Taco (or whatever that is ha) than I've been sold a lie ever since I started working there and I know I haven't.

Did I just get a little worked up over that? Like I said I love my job. ha

Either in a burrito or bowl....

light rice
pinto beans
1/2 barbacoa
1/2 carne
mild salsa
cheese
sour cream
lettuce

I also enjoy Q'Doba. I get the same thing but swap the sour cream for the 4 cheese queso. Queso is sooooo good
