"It is supposed to make that noise - it is a high performance vehicle." Regarding the front suspension bushings and brake clicking.

Was buying a used 05' STi and they said we only allow people 25 years old and older to test drive it................

I was 25 at the time...he never asked my age -_-

After making him feel slightly stupid, he took a copy of my DL and took forever (thinking of his next stupid excuse) and came back to say "sorry, the car is purchase only"

I came back the following week to ask the same salesman if they carried SPT parts for my 05' java black Sti that I recently bought from a dealer down the street. The look of confusion and fail on his face was priceless, as I hopped in my STi and let that boxer rumble remind him not to be an @ss hat.

1. "Performed fuel quality test and found previous 5 fill ups were of low grade fuel."

2. It isn't necessary to change your oil before the first service at 18,000 miles (new 135i.) If you want, we can do an early oil change for you for $400.

3. BMW invented ABS brakes.

Asked a CA to send me a price list for a European Delivery vehicle. Paraphrasing what he said " Buying a BMW isn't about the price, it's about the purchasing experience we can offer you" Huh ? Found someone in Atlanta asked the same thing (via email) and he responded with a PDF file with everything listed out in black and white and his cost over ED invoice. Ordered from him the next day.

2. The Nissan Altima 3.5 V6 does 0-60 in 4.5 seconds.
3. VW's are very reliable.
4. The Nissan GTR isn't our cup of tea; we sell to a more mature crowd.
5. To buy a 911 Turbo, you need to take driving lessons at the Porsche Performance center otherwise Porsche won't sell you one. That car is an accident waiting to happen.

Part of #1 is absolutely correct and that is according to JD POWERS not BMW. The part they have wrong is the reliability. The BMW over a total cost of 5 uears of ownership, the BMW is the least expensive to maintain.

how much did he charge over invoice?

"The car’s worth. Several sites will help you determine a good price for the car, including Edmunds.com, KBB.com, JeffCars.com, Cars.com and Autobytel.com. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price, also known as the sticker price or asking price, is the first number a dealer is likely to throw at you. A lower number is the invoice price, the approximate amount that the dealer spent for the car. Since dealers often get bonuses if they sell a high volume of cars, “they will in some cases sell a car at invoice price or less,” Reed says. Also helpful are Edmunds.com’s proprietary True Market Value figures, which are a compilation of what people across the country paid for a particular vehicle. The websites of dealers and automobile financing companies can also provide information about rebates and current incentives. "

If you buy a new BMW; I agree completely... because you get 3 years of maintenance free driving. In other words BMW pays for everything including oil changes. If you buy the car used or intend to keep it for a longer period of time (i.e. over 100K miles)... it is simply false. A Lexus is a Toyota built product and requires basic upkeep to retain reliable and working for a longer period of time. With that; all Lexus services can be performed at Toyota dealerships for Toyota Camry labor prices... Good luck with a late model BMW in that regard.

Keep a similarly priced BMW over 100K and you could become bankrupt if one thing goes wrong. (obviously some sarcasm in there but try that between a 335i and an IS350)

told me that I had to pay cash for 135i.
Then told me that ED isn't available for 1M.

Walked out, went to another dealer in 10miles, bought 1M with 2k off MSRP.

Thats hilarious, same thing with me! The guy said I could NOT leave the parking lot. Test a SS in a 10mph parking lot?

I was test driving an Audi A4 (used, pretty much a base model, but very low mileage) from a very large, very reputable dealer near me. Driving it was a breeze, it was vibrating enough that change was rattling in the cupholder. It was like driving a vibrator.

I asked the employee in the car with my dad and I "is this normal for this car?", and he said "yes, it's a sports car, all sports cars do this."

My dad drives an M6. We were not amused.

Stupid shit like this only gets pulled if they don't know your background, if they somehow assume you are a tire kicker or you are going to drive a tuner car to the likes of an EVO / STI. The only car I ever had trouble test driving was the EVO and that is because I was well aware of the crowd that typically drives these cars on the streets. In any case, I showed up in my BMW which was very new at the time (but I made sure no one saw it) because I was considering an EVO as maybe a 2nd fun car... The salespeople I talked to at both dealerships wouldn't let me drive the car without credit checks and without me being 99% sure I was going to buy the car. I laughed both times and little did they know I was driving a 335i... the next time I showed up at a Mitsubishi dealership; I made sure that everyone saw what car I pulled up in... there was no problem to say the least, in fact I was thrown the keys.

Yeah- going to the dealer and sipping coffee is a much more interesting purchasing experience than going to the factory and tearing around Europe.

After the vacation cost, not many would save money on ED- you do it for the experience.

Went to audi dealership to look at S5, the sales person asked me how I like my e92 335i (loaded). I told him I love it, he told me "no, really, how do u like it? When I had it, I hated it. most slow, crappy car I owned." He drives a base A4 right now =/....
then he tells me how the A5 is faster than the 335.... I just nodded and put on a fake smile.

Went to test drive an evo (was interested in seeing what the hype was about), sales lady told me to keep the RPMs low. Red lined it the whole time =). She did not say one word.
