What is the most exotic food you’ve eaten?

Went out with some clients last night and had deep fried alligator tail. Wasn't too bad. The meat was a bit tough but it had a lot of flavor. Although I can't really say it tasted "exotic" They invited me out for some stingray. Looking forward to that one!

I've had guinea pig in Peru though I couldn't tell you what it tasted like since that was 17 years ago.

Turtle soup / turtle sandwiches in Cayman Islands
Bunch of stuff when I went to Australia, ostrich, emu, and kangaroo.

Maybe not as "exotic" but certainly not common, I had lobster sushi at this awesome little sushi place in LA (actual sushi, not the cooked lobster you get in many sushi places)

I live in Florida so don't consider alligator exotic anymore, but I do get 'gator bites at the local biker hangout and they are delicious.

Probably not considered exotic, but when I tell Americans that we eat cow tongue and blood sausage in Belgium, people look at me a bit odd. Same goes with horse meat, although I have personally never eaten that.

Gator, possum, raccoon, snake (one of my favorites) and of course crickets, mealworms etc. Dusted with salt or some cheddar cheese they are delicious. I have a buddy who swears by squirrel brains and even has a special technique for opening the skull. Too much for me.

Horse is my favorite meat! It's the best tasting animal in the world.

Yup, these guys faint when they hear about our menus. I always tell.

I'll leave the snails and such out of this, they are common. Frogs, about every organ a mammal has in it and so on. Still the weirdest things eaten by me have without a doubt been my mothers cooking experiments . I can honestly say that woman tried to fix her fuck up of giving birth to me many times over.

Ox tail soup. I walked into the carniceria with the wife. Spanish ensues at a pace faster than I could hear, never mind understand. Dude walks to the counter and presents a tail, complete with the little bubble of hair on the end. More rapid-fire Spanish and I'm glancing around to peak and some brown chi-chis. Dude comes back with the traditional butcher paper, and I feel these round disks in there.
Later that night, wifey hands me a bowl that smells great. "Cola de res" she says. I take a taste of the broth, great stuff. Then I see the little disks with bone in the middle.

"Honey, we make enough money that we can afford to eat the regular parts of the cow. Throw a few colas in there, but also get some stew chunks to throw in there so I don't have to gnaw on some tail"

Ate this Nigerians pussy last night. Blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice. No lie. Pretty exotic for my part of the world.

Not exactly. You live in Texas, so you should know that Texas has some of the largest amounts of Nigerians in the US, with most of them living in Houston. Cheers!

My grandfather had race horses up until a few years ago, so it was very much frowned upon in my family. My father-in-law has quite a few horses, so I always joke when I'm with my in-laws that I'm off to get some BBQ at the ranch where they keep their horses. Always funny.
