E90 N52 Valve cover gasket replacement nightmare
I replaced the VCG and when the car started it ran good for about a minute.. then abrutly started misfiring and limping.. now it's led to a crank no start. It just cranks and doesn't sound like it wants to start.. all grounds PCV and gaskets are connected properly.. I'm kind of lost as the car was running fine before the replacement of the VCG.. I scanned the Ecu and had all these codes.. was wondering if anyone knows if this is bad ESS? the spark plug cylinders 4-6 all had oil in them as the gasket was basically plastic.
Here's all the codes 2AAC: Variable intake system 2 , self diagnosis 2A98: Crankshaft- Inlet camshaft , Correlation 10.0.0.0.1 192.168.1.254 2AA9: Variable intake servomotor 2: Actuation 2A82: Vanos inlet 29D1: Combustion misfire on Cylinder 5 2E1C: Firing Cylinder 5 2D06: Air Mass system 2A31: Valvetronic eccentric shaft sensor guide 2A32: Valvetronic eccentric shaft sensor reference 2A80: Vanos inlet, Activation 2A85: Vanos Outlet, Activation Last edited by skibi; 10-12-2023 at 01:15 PM.. |

Sounds like the Valvetronic motor didn't reset or ESS issue. I hope you didn't leave a tool or part in the cam box and it caught something.
