That's the whole point, they are too common with women these days. It used to be kind of cool if a woman had a small, feminine tattoo on her ankle or something, because most girls didn't have one. Now EVERY girl has one, and I am always excited to meet someone who doesn't have one. It makes her more unique and not a trendy sheep.

Personally, I'm not really a fan of tattoos on anyone. However, if you're set on getting one, I'd suggest maybe the shoulder blade.

White is a tough one. White ink doesnt hold in MOST people. But if you are set on something like the flag, you can always just make sure you get the white drilled in there, or go back for a second setting. that should help. i guess.

I agree with Findtom I don't like tattoos on the ankle. Depending on the occasion it's not appropriate. The lower back is nice, you can show it off whenever you feel like it. My ex had a tattoo near the pelvic area it looks very sexy.

No way....I like tattoos on women. They can be so sexy!

Of course...it depends on what it is, where its located. And...less is definitely more!

If you get tired of the Italian flag, you can have an eagle put in the center and it will become a Mexican flag.

not tryin to kiss up, but I don't think you need one. You already look great and quite Italian. All people would have to do to know you're paisan is to look at you.

Thanks for all the replies. I jokingly told my mom i was going to get a tat, she freaked out! hahah.. but whatever, if i get it, she wont know anyway.

Its amazing to hear how most of you took years to decide on something. I guess thats why i never had the balls to get one, cause i really didnt have anything that i could have on my body forever. I wouldnt ever get a stupid butterfly or flower, ... if i get the flag, its meaningful. My heritage, my passion, my tradition.

However, i do agree with beauderek, Tats are SOOO common in girls, ESP in San Diego. Its almost rare to find a natural like me. Its a tough call, the pelvic area is where i'd most likely get it.. but like i said.. i dont want the flag to become a banner when i get knocked up

Agreed.

I am still working on my next piece too. I started it back in 2003...its on the shelf now. Have not really looked at it for 8 months. For awhile, I did not have the $$$ to spend on it. Then...I lacked to motivation/inspiration to finish the design. Now...back to $$$ tied up again. Hopefully, I will finish the design this summer/fall...and pull trigger next spring.

Well...you can probably do this without getting a flag. There might be other ways to demonstate your pride...

My suggestion..go visit a couple of shops. Not just to get a feel for them..and see which shop you would like to go get it done one day. But also to get a chance to see what other people get done, and at what locations. It might help you come up with new ideas, narrow down your ideas. Helps to see in person what looks good and what you don't like in the flesh. Just a thought....

Think about this, bella: Why would anyone want to draw all over the mona lisa with crayon? It's already a masterpiece...leave it alone!

When you're old, with the memory of a goldfish, leathery skin from too much sun, and a chest that now sits at your waist due to gravity... you're not attractive anyways.

Beauty fades. Go for the tattoo.

You should consider going to a tattoo convention. You could get ideas and talk to the tattoo artists. I just attended one this last weekend in Long Beach. And found a guy who specializes in what I want.

If you must get a tatoo you should at least get it somewhere you can decide if it's going to be visible or not.... just my 2 cents.
LMAO! Could not agree with findtom more.

And further, don't do it. Because you WILL regret it later on in life.

Trust me, you will.

. . . . and my 2 cents.

I think the pelvic area is good because:

1- It's hot
2- If you're worried about a pregnant belly messing it up just go lower ( )
3- You can hide it if you want.

That's my extra 2 cents (you're up to 4 from me now).

Why not a Canolli behind the neck

J/K why not get something that represents you not your heritage. I mean nothing wrong with representing your heritage but you already look Italian so getting an Italian flag is kinda overkill. I would only get something that represents my heritage if people mistake me for being something else all the time
