out of here - update

OK so ive sold my 330D Touring SE step & replaced it with an Audi A4 Avant 3.0 Tdi S-line Quattro tip. After 100 miles my impressions are:

The Audi is every bit as well built as the BMW

I think it is a better looking car & the interior is better.

It is far more comfortable - for me anyway

The roadholding is FAR better than the BMW

It is not quite as fast but th power delivery is better

It rides a bit more harshly on poor surfaces but does not tramline like the BMW

All told i am one happy bunny :rocks:

Congratulations! Audi is a fine car, I hope you enjoy it for a long time. And of course, you're still quite welcome here!

The Audi has a much, much better interior than the BMW. Alot of guys here slam the Audi, but I for one think it's an amazing car. In fact, I think my next car will probably be an Audi.

To each his own, I can't imagine going from a BMW to an Audi. I just don't find them at all attractive for one thing, and BMW really is the ultimate driving machine. I suppose you could have done a lot worse. Good luck, and enjoy your new car.

Yeah, I agree with kevinc. I drove both a 330xi and an Audi A4 3.2 Quattro around a course for a BMW xDrive comparison. The bimmer blew the doors off of the quattro on handling.... there really was no comparison between those two.

It's still a great car though, congrats.

Audi's are very well made and very well designed cars, but offer very little if any character at all in terms of driving experience. I might switch into one one day just to know what the ownership experience is like. I'm a little iffy on having a car that needs maitenence just for it's awd system.

my buddy in waltham owns an 05 audi a4 2.0t quattro fully loaded
+ve: navigation is easier to use than e90's, interior is a bit more pleasant than e90's but thats perhaps because i love audi's backlighting (red for audi, orange for bmw)
-ve: obviously deliverance of power, e90 has better handling, audi's steering wheel is light...i prefer heavier steering wheel
overall audi is still a great car, however the comparison will be better if its between 330i and a4 3.2
if i've the money though, i'll get both e90 and audi a4...audi for daily driving, e90 for weekend

I find that's what I always notice most when driving another make of car... there's nothing quite like the BMW steering, it's so perfect. Not too heavy, not too light... you can feel a dime under the front wheels.

Audi is a very nice car, well built, nice looking...

but 4 me, the BMW charecter is difference, i look at the guy who owns a bimmer differently, the Audi guy is sporty, maybe more risky...

the bimmer guy is more elegance, still sporty, but believes in the ULTIMATE driving experience (thats y he choose a bimmer)

and i dont know about you guys, but telling a person you own a bimmer is different than telling him you own an audi...
it's the name effect

but still, Audi has its powerful name, and the differences between german cars became so narrow you really have a hard time comparing them...

so congrats on ur ride beemer

I just came from an Audi TT to a BMW, I do agree the leather is nicer in the Audi, but that is basically it! I love my 330i!

BWAHAHAHAHA! i agree to that!!!!! well bmw is BMW thats why alot of car company is targeting BMW because they know BMW engineering is perfect thats why e90 is the CAR OF THE YEAR! plus when you go have a chat with youre friends and one of them drive a BMW and you said you drive an AUDI they will rather go home with the owner of a BMW rather than the AUDI.... well life isn't fair but thats how it is... but still congratulations with your new car enjoy it!
