I see what you're saying about the throttle in the graph.
Just a shot in the dark but have you tried reset throttle adaptions.

BT cable/software can also reset just throttle adaptions and menu option 1-7 on JB4 will reset all adaptions.

Your idle may go wacky when you do this.
If it does, just shut off engine, turn ignition back on and hold throttle WOT for 30 seconds.

After that just start the car back up and the cars idle should be fine.

Make sure you do 1-7 with just the ignition on.

I think it has something to do with your auto shift reduction setting

From my experience from being stock, piggybacked, or ST'ed it seems that the logic in the dme does this on purpose only when you are within a couple hundred RPM of redline. It's almost like another over engineered logic to either reduce spikes at the turbos or run some cooler air thru the engine after a high load pull. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I still haven't messed with this parameter.

on a side note, It did it without the JB4...it did exactly what its doing now bone stock!!

I sent terry JB4 all this VIA email, and he confirmed that the jb4 did not have any calibration to remove the throttle body spike...nothing they can do.

I think at this point a reflash of the DME is the only option as it looks like this issue I have might be a feature BMW coded deep into the logic of the DME to reduce boost lag during shifts...it'll always hold 5psi

It's a huge drivability issue for me tho...I really wanna get rid of this

I hear you....I'm leaning more towards BMW intentionally coded this into the DME's logic to reduce lag between shifts, sort of like a 'No lift shift" setup...

If this is true, I guess a cobb DME reflash would remove this feature?

Or alteast give us access to the throttle body reference maps, in hopes of maybe removing this spike?

I spent some tim chasing this a couple years ago. It's some logic in the DME that permits it to happen, and is perfectly normal. I assumed it was for an OEM shift softening technique.

I'm not sure if it can be tuned out. If anything PTF would have the knowledge to do so. My compressor surges very little when this happens so what ever it's for its not hurting the turbos.
