[Spy Shots]: 2013 Audi S6 undresses in Germany

Audi's usual S up-do is fully evident here, with the more aggressive front fascia, side sill extension and four exhaust tips out back all signaling a more sporting sedan.

The new S6 will likely ditch the current car's 5.2-liter V10 mill in favor of a turbocharged 4.0-liter V8. Since the S6 will compete with the likes of the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and BMW M5, expect power output to be somewhere in the 500- to 550-horsepower range.

Like all Audis, it looks good... but I can't help but think of it as "boring."

If this is challenging the M5 and E63 then wtf will the RS6 compete against? Will it just be a significantly more expensive, better-performing, f*ck you to MB and BMW?

+1. Maybe except few models, they all look pretty boring even with their LEDs. Also, the rear end I have to say is horrible..

How can i like the front and hate the back of the same car?

Honestly, bar the exhausts, this is almost the same as the S Line.

I was thinking the same thing.
If I have to guess, the S6 engine's output would be somewhere between 430-470hp instead of M5/ E63 AMG's 550hp+.
The S6 would compete with 550i and E550.

No, regardless of what the AutoBlog article says this will not have 550hp and nor will it truly compete with the M5 and E63amg. What it will do is probably sit ever so slightly above the 550i and e550 in terms of perform as is the case with the S4. Claimed output being suggest from numerous sources is 420hp, sounds kind of light unless the S6 ends up lighter than both the 550i and e550, otherwise this figure will be a bit more than that, I'm guessing 440-450hp.

As for the RS6, well it's too early to discuss such things as yet. Best wait until the M5 gets released before we need talk about what Audi might have give us.

Don't think its supposed to look different. Just like the 550i looks no different from the 535i other than the exhaust. The S-line kit is standard on the S6 and optional on the A6 while BMW makes M-Sport kit optional on the whole 5 series line. The M-Sport looks better than the S-Line based on photos i have seen so far (waiting to see both in person).

So what Audi might give us is based on what BMW is giving us . That makes them sound like a follower (not saying they are so don't flame)

I think both are beautiful looking cars, I've seen the A7 in both trim options and as it's close in appearance to the A6 I can only say that IMO the S-line adds to the whole overall look, much the same is true for the 5er.

Not what I meant, to discuss which is best between the RS6 and M5 without having hard data about either is a bit too soon. Now when you see the final spec of the M5 and know how good or bad it is then is the time to question what Audi need to do.

BTW I am pretty sure the RS6 development is well under way and they probably know better than us what is needed. No need to follow BMW's lead but I am sure they are following the M5 program closely.

The c6 rs6 ate the e60m5 and 6.2L mercedes anything (other than sls) and shit it out. (stock for stock, and even more so with simple mods)

Im just really interested in seeing if the new BMW and Merc V8TT's can compete with the audi V10TT

Derp it also came out two years later. That's what adding two turbos and the resulting gobs of torque will do for you.

Don't expect the same results from the C7 RS6, the playing field is even now that both the M5 and RS6 will use turbo power and with a hinted at 570+hp for the M5 I doubt Audi will bring anything more than that, if it even brings this much.
