Chirping from back right

2014 f30 335 xdrive
123k miles started getting a chirping noise from driver side rear 2 weeks ago. Gotten worse and louder over the last two days. It is not consistent.

No noises when shaking the trunk up and down. Not the rear seats, glass or door seals.
Sticking my head out the window it was barely audible.

Did you end up figuring out what it was? Started getting the exact same sound about a week ago, I replaced both rear shocks but still have the noise. Narrowed it down to the shock tower or lower control arm bushing.

While reading through some forum posts others that have this noise ended up being the parking cable clips that broke and the parking cable rubs against other things. Zip ties fixes that problem.

This reads like wheel bearings.
Raise the car off the ground with the tires on, and hold a rear wheel at the 3 and 9 o'clock position. Try to move the wheel back and forth. Repeat this test at the 12 and 6 o'clock positions. Does the wheel have play? If yes, it's wheel bearings.

nope not the wheel bearings. I pulled the strut out again this morning and its pushed over to the right within the mount. I think its rubbing against the mount under pressure. I ordered a new strut mount this morning and it will be here + im going to install it tomorrow and see if thats the issue. Ill update tomorrow

I had the exact same noise, fixed it today by replacing my upper strut mounts. The one on my passenger side had failed and the rod of the strut was rubbing against the rubber bushing in the mount. Took the car out for 10 mins and didn’t get a squeak or chirp. Hopefully it’s fully gone!
