im a big fan of shockwave combos. theyll wipe out an entire line of dudes, and you get paid for em.

edit: actually they only wipe out an entire row of dudes until about the 120th wave.

700 waves is insane. i thought my laptop was going to blow up from all the lag and i only got to ~260

You can get up to around level 60 with only a machine gun and a rocket launcher if you do it right. I got past the 400th wave then started being overrun. Up until wave 400, the enemy never even made if past the first turn (not once). Clearly I wasn't anticipating the rapid increase in strength and speed the enemy displayed around the 400th wave, othewise I would have probably just put more into rail guns, and lasers+fusion earlier.

im pretty sure if you build you map correctly you can reach 1000.

have it zigzag back and fourth for 5475456468 times and stock up at your little corner full of combos

2 blue turrets and a rocket launcher got me to 100 something with the damage and rate maxed out for land mine combos. thats really the only way ive been able to get into the triple digits.

In the early stages, use a rocket launcher and increase it's rate quickly. It'll start swarming missiles, and you rack up waves really quickly. I went machine gun->rocket launcher->laser and maxed them out all around the same time, those three took me close to 100 as you mentioned.
