Exterior is definitely a miss, but it's different. The Tesla cult/techies/nerds will buy these in droves.

The only thing that bothers me about this truck is thinking that one might hit me in my Exige. Good night Irene.

This is straight out of the Elon Musk/Tesla playbook. Did you really expect this truck to do what he said it would? But it doesn't matter because people will line up to buy it. Tesla has a cult-like following much like Apple. They can put out anything and folks will gobble it up. It's the same suckers who can't wait to get their hands on the latest iteration of the iPhone when all they give you year over year is new colors, a better screen, faster processor, and set of gimmicky features that largely amount to parlor tricks.

saw one driving the other day and it was wild! It seemed to look super long. It def was eye catching. I would rock it just for the novelty of it, not sure about making it my main car though. Still cool though IMO

Never thought a Pontiac Aztek would look good, but compared to that thing? Looks like it was designed by a 4 yr old.

I hated it when it came out. It has grown on me. I wouldn't say it's beautiful or anything, but it's definitely different and unique. I would imagine anyone who is OCD about their cars will have a nervous breakdown trying to maintain that stainless steel.
The interior on the other hand... I don't mind the minimalist interiors on other Tesla models... but I'm not a huge fan of the squaredness of this one. I guess it's trying to look tough like a lot of trucks, but I don't like that in any truck. |

He's done it.
Hes even cut out paint costs by bolt on some steel door and marketed it as bulletproof There is one born every minute... |

Good luck getting it repaired if it's ever in an accident. Insurance premiums are going to be through the roof on this thing!

Willing to bet building this thing with stainless steel panels did not save them any money. If anything it made it more difficult. Listening to one of the engineers, when presented with the idea his reaction was less than happy. Apparently it was one of reasons for delays. Stamping stainless is a lot more difficult than aluminum, it likes to spring back from whatever shape you give it. It is far from forgiving, making gaps and shut lines more difficult.

I'm willing to think that painting costs and structural rigidity costs were felled in one swoop. If there is a penny to be saved it will that I'm sure. |

Didn't they figure this shit out like 40 years ago? I mean... they did go out of business and what not... but the cars are still around.
