Considering this F30. New to BMW. Any advice?

Car looks nice and seems well maintained, but 188k on the odo is off-putting. What do you guys think?

What should I look out for maintenance wise?

Is the price reasonable given the mileage?

What is your desired use for the car? Annual mileage? How handy are you?

It does look rather clean, and highway miles are generally easier on a car than stop and go. The N55 is a pretty stout engine, I don’t know as much about the manual transmission for this generation. Seems like a well optioned example for a good price, maintenance history is the key thing.

I’d agree that is a bit higher than I would shop for on a daily (I put 26k on my car a year) and would put me uncomfortably high before long, but I’m planning on running mine up over 200k at the rate I’m driving it and am not really worried about that mileage. Really just depends on your situation- I wouldn’t touch a 328i with that mileage but think this could be reasonable for the right person. IMO I’d be most concerned about cosmetic wear and tear (paint, headlights, seats) as those things can add up quickly if that matters to you.

My first car was a 528i I took from 160k-220k over the course of ~6 years when it was totaled in an accident and still was running strong, YMMV but I can see a situation where this could make sense

As is typical of one post wonders this guy hasn’t been back on the forum a single time since he asked this question. That’s why I stopped responding to them.
