carbon fibre road bicycles

So I've been looking at buying a descent bike. I can get a full carbon fibre Bottecchia with shimano ultegra for 1200 or with shimano dura-ace for 1500 and the last choice a full carbon Fuji with a ultegra and 105 series parts for 1375.00. Any suggestions here guys?

Wondering the same thing also. Was looking for a road cycle and got a little discouraged that entry level bikes are $800-$1000 and carbon fiber bikes are a few grand. I dont know where your finding carbon frames for a G.

Isn't a bicycle's speed depended upon the powerplant? Hell, put me on that "super light" bicycle and it ain't goin' anywhere fast.

1. Find a frame that fits.
2. Make sure you like the ride.
3. Buy the best components you can afford.

I used to ride a LOT, to the point I was shredding bottom brackets about every 3 months. Shifters lasted 6 months, etc. This was on a mountain bike, but the same principle applies. I was using Shimano STX and LX parts. I kept the frame, as it fit great and rode well, and upgraded everything to XT and XTR. That stuff is still as good as the day it was bought 12 years ago. Spend money on components, in my opinion you'll notice it more than shaving an ounce off the frame weight.
