I think another reason the advice on this site is declining is because it's always the same questions being asked repeatedly.

For example, when these cars were new, everybody was in the same boat in terms of knowledge. Every question was new and most of the community was curious as to the answer. But now that these cars have been around for a few years, those of us who have been around for a while already know most of the answers to the questions which we might need to ask; thus we no longer visit threads to which we already know the answers.
Maybe some of us will chime in and answer a question every now and then, but at a certain point, it does become rather irritating seeing the obligitory and repetative "what is the best exhaust/ intake", "is it ok to put a M badge on my non-M car" and "my car is making funny noises" threads. Because of this, many long time members either ignore those threads, or feel the need to make their feelings known by posting something unproductive.
