i'll watch it. it all depends on Cung Le's takedown defense. If he can stuff Shamrock and keep it standing he should win, if not...look out.

I must be way out of the mainstream, from the title of the post I thought it was some type of Irish oral sex thing...

You realize they're the same age, don't you?

You also have to look at their records, and who they've each fought. Shamrock has only been KO'd once, 2 submission losses, 1 DQ, 1 TKO (cut), and 3 decision losses.

Cung Le hasn't fought any fighter of "real quality" as of yet. Even standing, Frank has a very very good chance.

But, anything can happen. I'm picking Frank, personally.

I'm guessing no one wants a cage match with Barney?

Cung Le has fought many high caliber fighters from Japan. I have not seen him really fight on the ground though. This would be an interesting match.

Like who? And, what type of match/rules?

He has no ground game at all, AFAIK.

Frank is still a very well rounded fighter. Cung Le's stand-up is well regarded. I think Frank will win but I don't know about Le's ground game and takedown defense. Frank is slick on the ground so it should interesting.

Good fight! Cung got rocked by that right cross from Shamrock in the 3rd but he weather the ensueing storm. I thought something might be up when Shamrock dropped his right after the 2nd to last right roundhouse from Le and started shaking it. When he went back up against the fence he looked like he wanted no more even though there was still 10 seconds left! Props to Frank for keeping to his word and staying standing though.

I'm really surprised he didn't take it to the ground after Le caught his kick and swept him. He didn't have that same smile after he got back up. I was hoping to see more of Le's ground game, but it was a great stand-up match....with technique no less!!! I figured Frank would win because he'd take it to the ground where he has the biggest advantage but, standing, Le would have the edge. Definately a great fight! I'm looking forward to the rematch.

these won't stay up long so watch em while you can

first round

second

third and outcome

just finished watching it. was a great effort to stand up and stick to his word by frank. i wish he would've started striking fear in the take downs mid-late second round. kinda wished he would've just exposed cung's ground game too. good showing by both fighters. hope to see a rematch some time next year!
