Pics look amazing though. The IS-F looks great...it just looks so aggressive.

I know someone asked this before, but what type of mpg are you getting? I've noticed that it is rated higher than the M3, but every review that I have read seems to indicate that it gets worse or the same mpg.

As for gas consumption, if drive easy I can get about 320 miles out of 15 gallons. If I drive city/hard I get about 210 miles out of 15 gallons. I'm adding fuel all the time...

The 8 speed is not as bad as it sounds. I rarely use 8th gear unless I'm cruising on the highway. If I'm doing normal driving most of the time I keep it between gears 1-5. If I'm in manual mode, the top of 4th gear already takes me over 100. In 8th gear at 80 mph my revs are around 2000 rpm.

In sport mode and manual, the shifts are ultra fast! This really makes a huge difference when really accelerating and getting up to speed. A simple flick of the paddle and your in the next gear in 100th of a second. I think that was one of the things that really made me like the car. I had a 6 speed before the IS-F and fasts shifts was a must with the car or I wouldn't go for it.

I'll chime in here... Cruise control at 65 mph gives about 28-29 mpg, cruise at 80-85 gives about 25 mpg. All suburb driving w/o beating on it gives about 19 mpg. Typical for me is 17-18 mpg. It's about 2 mpg less than my IS350 and about 3 mpg less than my ES300. The 7th gear kicks in at around 40 mph and 8th gear kicks in around 45 mph. When it kicks in, it's barely above idle - I think it's running like 1200-1300 rpm. At 60, it's baredly doing 1600 rpm.

Good info. Thanks - can either of you comment on the Mark Levinson stereo system vs the Logic system on the BMWs?

Funny, that's exactly what I was thinking. Beluga! Not a bad thing though. The car has a nice understated look. Very nice.

Here is a review:

http://www.edmunds.com/apps/vdpconta...3/pageNumber=5

Sound:
BMW - B-
Lexus - A

The Logic 7 system, as found in the 335i, delivers acceptable sound for a premium stereo. It doesn't knock our socks off like the 7 Series system does and, in the end, the Mark Levinson sounds noticeably better even to the casual listener. — Brian Moody,

Very nice photos and great car. I saw quite a few IS-F's in my area and I do like them a lot.
