Ok, its starting to get annoying. I know there are alot of car sites with off-topic sections with just pure postwhoring. Which is great, but alot of us here find it irritating, so please stop it, hate to have to make a rule about this.

What do you mean by postwhoring?

Do you mean that you would like all posts to be automobile related, or do you mean that all posts should be meaningful (like not just emoticons, for example)?

Does postwhoring mean posting just to boost the post count?
(I noticed that you stopped counting Off Topic posts anyway)
Do pics take too much server space?

postwhore: ewww, i like strawberry milkshakes, or i am the master of teh bmw.

basically some really gay shit that has nothing to do with anything.

Postwhoring is when people make continuous posts that no one cares about. Like when people write what song they're listening to, what their eating/drinking... AND NOTHING ELSE. Some people get on, do that for God-knows-how-much, and say little.

Here is another one:

Postwhoring is when you post retarded useless @#%$, usually to increase your post count, or something that has a shitload of smileys. This includes quoting someone and nothing else as your post.

that's a perfect example! everyone does postwhoring from time to time (except E90Fleet

) but had admins not disable post counts in the OT section, some people would have 3000+ posts by now with nothing but "AaA: BbB is gay AAA: hey AaA, quit stealing my nicknames! BBB: BbB is not gay, she's a girl AaA:

aaAA: i think he's a guy " etc., etc...

Very true, everyone does it at some time, which is fine.

But certain members make the majority of their posts useless crap that noone cares about, they are the ones I'm talking to really.

Problem is, they (we?) are the ones least likely to be listening, or to understand the message if they bother to read it. We could get vicious and put up a new 'postwhore' smilie... to be used when appropriate.

OK. I think I got it...to be off topic is not necessarily to be a Ho but to be off thread is, especially when there is no reason for it.

How about when someone makes a good point and someone posts

?
To me that does serves some feedback purpose, though it doesn't contribute a whole lot of content. I'm guessing that that's OK, but shouldn't be the majority of one's posts.
