Your point about new building for the Olympics benefiting Chicago is moot since they would have been designed to be destroyed after the events to keep costs down.

After the Beijing olympic, which is the 1st one that I went ever. I decided that I will try really hard to make it to all olympics from now on. I see it as not just another sport competition venue anymore, but rather a celebration of the cultures of the hosting city. And I gotta agree, if Imna take 2 weeks out of my vacation time, I rather go to Rio than Chi town. Its just a more festive culture IMO.
