I saw a guy in a Nissan Sentra once who had replaced all the Nissan badges with BMW badges. It looked so absurd.

how come only BMW guys care about this crap? it most every other country BMW offers and M package for most models and it DOES come with an M badge on it. he left the 545i... it isn't as though he put an M5 badge on it, he has a lot of M parts on the car and is simply designated it. he isn't claiming to have something which he does not by doing so. Mercedes people do not complain when people with AMG sport package put AMG badge on one side of the trunk. in fact, many dealers put them on.

perhaps most bmw owners dont like to be poseurs

but just for the info, the car is for sale and at least the owner has a m-sport pack with quads....so he could have gotten away with it

you can tape anything on it and put any quads you want and it's never going to be the M5...

BTW, I did not know that the 3-er with the M-package in Europe comes with the ///M badge -- that is wrong...

Sure we do! AMG engines are hand built by one technician, it's even more of a stretch to put AMG on a regular Benz that only has the factory sport package installed over an M badge on a BMW with the M kit.

It doesn't. there are tiny Ms on the wheels, sills steering wheel etc.. but no big M on the back

I know the owner of the car. It's a 545i with the ///M badge. He brought his car to the e60 Wheel Power Meet in January. He's got a custom quad exhaust with the M5 rear bumper. He also happens to own a Porsche 996. So, he really isn't hurting for money to get a M5.
