Sometimes I envy the people who look at a car as transportation--thrilled with a Camry, Corolla, Altima, G6 or whatever. Look at all the "beaters" out there--most people can probably barely afford a new car, like we can.

Of the people who "like" cars, think how many of them would love a BMW and are probably somewhat envious of us as we (hopefully) speed by. Last night I had a few looks from pedestrians as I put the top down as I approached my car with the remote.

BTW, let's not ignore the above picture and acknowledge everything we take for granted. Out to dinner?? That vulture or whatever almost looks like it's looking at its next meal.

Cars

That Maybach is Nasty Ugly!
I think it's been a huge flop for MB, thats my understanding, anyway.
Yeah- I'm 41 and when I see something I really like that's in the $100,000+ area I get depressed because I've come to the realization that I just won't ever get "there"- but, I have learned to be happy with what I have....
Yeah, whatever- that never makes me feel any better!

I am not sure if Maybach is a flop like many of you had said. Last I heard they had numerous back orders. Granted they are not the greatest looking cars. But truthfully their purpose is not what we would want. It is for the people who do not have time to drive or do not want to and need a laptop, coffee machine, etc. in the back seat. So it won't appeal to us.

In Boston going on Newbury Street allows you to see 90% of the cities luxury cars. No joke, especially on weekends. First good weekend a couple weeks ago there was 2 Lambo's, 1 Ferrari, 1 Maserati and numerous high class Mercedes and BMW's. That was just on the street to, who knows what vehicles were in the many garages.

I just look and get inspired to one day own a vehicle like that. Or atleast drive one for a day.

I work near Olympic & Sawtelle in L.A. and have lunch @ that little strip mall all the time. I always try to sit outside because everytime I see at least 3-7 exotics drive by. Just the other day I saw 3 Bentley Coupes, a Lambo, a Spyker Roadster (crazy ass looking thing) and a Lotus. Been seeing a lot a Lotuses (Loti?) around westside in L.A. lately...

I would love to get a chance to drive the SLR and I also really like the Land Rover Sport, would be curious to see how sporty and fast it feels to drive.

I loved living in Columbus while in college. Some of the nicest cars rolling around there. Just money being thrown left and right. The city is definately on the up swing thats for sure.
