Questions On Transmission Swaps. (not auto to manual)

I've been wondering and searching for this but could not find an answer. Is there a difference between the 335i manual trans compared to the 325i/330i manual trans? I'm aware that the 335i can hold much more power. Would a 335i trans bolt right into a 325i/330i car?

Are you sure? All BMW small inline six bolt patterns are the same, since at least the 1970's.

What trans does the 335 have? Wouldn't it just have an uprated clutch? I don't think you need to worry about the transmission itself.

I thought gingerbreadman swapped his 330i N52 for N54 using his stock auto transmission.

Yeah, I'm not sure the difference is significant.

In any case, the 330i 6 speed is rated for 370nm and typically BMW transmissions will handle way more torque than their rating suggests.

Also, drivetrain components are not rated for horsepower, which is a measure of work completed over time (basically, torque x rpm / 5252). They are rated for torque capacity. A clutch upgraded to more torque capacity would be more than adequate for most N52 builds. You're not going to break a manual transmission...

Agreed.

No clutch issues so far on the E91 with the SC.
