► ► ► Now with PHOTOS (p16) - NURBURGRING TRIP --- 14th - 17th August ◀ ◀ ◀
Fresh from our weekend away at the 'Ring, I've been asked over and over again when the next Nurburgring trip is going to be A few of us had already planned a quiet trip away in August, but now that there's so much interest we're going to make it public and extend the invitation to all!!! We are planning to take wives/girlfriends/partners along for the trip too, as some of the girls really want to come along. So don't feel that it's just a boys' weekend away - if you can't get a pass alone, bring the boss too !! Sooooo.....
If you're interested, sign up below either by adding your name to the list or sending me a PM... I'll edit and add to this original post as we go along. Those coming / serious interest - Tony (E92Fan) - Booked Eurotunnel & Mercure Hotel Tim (DerRing) - Booked Eurotunnel & Mercure Hotel Paul (booforty) - Booked Eurotunnel & Giffels Goldener Anker Steve (bmwbailey) Carl (dxb335d) Ed (ed335d) James (SerJames) Jerome (Speedtrap) Floyd (SoYank) Marcel (Alpina_B3_Lux) Will (Willhollin) Paul (Biscuits) Viv (vivekk) - Booked Mercure Hotel Matt (RagingKileak) Matt (MattOz)

Am i coming on this trip and am i looking forward to going to the Ring again....... erm, DO BEARS SHIT IN THE WOODS!!!!!!??
Just a note though - I personally will not be staying at the hotel in Koblenz this time - it is a very pleasant hotel with underground parking (which you have to pay extra for!!) - but i think before people who havent been before make a decision they should be aware that it is 40 miles from the hotel to the Ring - thats an 80 mile round trip EVERY day - fuel is expensive out there and i think it adds unnecessary miles to your car and extra cost that you dont honestly need to. I havent decided where my wife and i will be staying yet - but it would be nice if those that are not staying in Koblenz and want to stay closer to the Ring try and stay either at the same hotel or close by so we are not too spread out. I am open to suggestions as to where else to stay - we have lots of very good options - so feel free to post on here or PM me with ideas. Looking forward to meeting some new Ringers and of course the old Ringers!!! Steve.

You're really amazing Tony. Just came back from organizing the last trip, and here we go already for the next!!!
Anyway, I'm expressing "serious interest" as you called it. I'll certainly try to be there on Saturday and Sunday (considering I don't have to come from so far as most of you guys). Looking forward to that! Alpina_B3_Lux

I'll try my best to persuade my wife to let me go away for another weekend... 50:50 chance I guess.
Also it would be in our 130i, as the M3 will have gone by then... but to be honest, doesn't matter what car your in, it's a bloody awsome place and there's nothing like passing faster cars |

I thought the Hotel was excellent, yes a little far from the Ring maybe, but as Tony said, allowed for the cars to be warmed up properly.
The food at the hotel was truly excellent, only ate once in the evening on the last night but would recommend to anyone. The city of Koblenz was also very nice as we visited the local BMW dealer on the Monday and had lunch in the city centre. If business goes well this summer I would hope to be going too in some form. We will see. For those thinking about going for the first time, don't. Just BOOK IT! |

Thanks for the info, Tony.
I've put myself down for this trip & will probably come over as a passenger- looking forward to it. Just trying to persuade my brother to bring his R8 now: Oh- I've booked the hotel now, so it looks like I'm a definite. Viv |

The Mercure Hotel rates are REALLY cheap at the moment - €80 per night including breakfast (which is normally €16) on their Summer Deal... rates will probably go up in the next couple of weeks, so don't wait too long if that's where you want to stay!!

Hi Jerome Yes, I've booked... so far, Viv, Tim (my brother) and I think WillHollin (if he is going to come) are staying at the Mercure. I know that others don't like the location of the hotel so much and want to stay closer to the 'Ring, which is fine There are links to other hotels in my first post of this thread The Mercure is just under 40 miles away from the 'Ring, and takes half an hour to get there, so some see it as being inconvenient which is perfectly understandable. I like it because it gives the cars time to warm up in the morning, and also gives the opportunity for a nice cooldown drive on the way to being parked up overnight in the underground carpark...

Depends who you go with, if they want you to contribute to fuel etc..!! But in general, about €260 for the accommodation, €150 on food and drink, plus whatever else on top...
