Spec check before pulling trigger on new wheels/tires

Was looking at a new set of wheels and tires. Sanity check that i would have no issues with fitment on my F30 340i xdrive lowered on H&R sport springs with factory EDC.

18x8.5 et30 front and 18x9.5 et35 rear.

Been going back and forth between tire sets, depending on total diameter and what tire manufacturer would work within the 1% limit of xdrive.

235/45-18 front, 265/40-18 rear
or
235/40-18 front, 265/35-18 rear

in the thread above, kif30ki has 265/40/18 @ ET40 at the rear. your setup will poke 5mm more...

235/40/18(25.4")+265/35/18(25.3") since the diameters are smaller than OEM, speedo will read higher and odometer will accrue higher, than actual.

imo, the rear offset needs to be at least ET40 but ET42-45 would be better

are those the only sizes for the rims you're thinking about?

Those are the only sizes for the rims I was considering. I'm really after obtaining another lightweight set of 5 spoke style wheels. I had LTW5's on my e92 335i for years. Haven't come across any others that style that would work without using spacers or going custom.

how about enkei kojin? 18x8.5 ET35 (20.6#), 18x9.5 ET45 (20.25#). these offsets would be way better for looks and also handling and you can run 245/40/18+275/35/18. if i think of something else, i'll let you know.

if you're staying with the wheels you desire, i'd probably go with the taller setup, but it might rub the fenderlip occasionally under compression.

Hmm, I will look in to those.

If I wanted to just simplify things and run a square setup with 255/40/18s, What 18x8.5 or 18x9 offset would achieve the best flush visual while avoiding too much poke? I see 18x9 et30 all the time on here, but do you think it might poke too much with that tire size?

255/40/18 @ ET30 will poke, especially up front.

for a 255/40/18 to be flush the offset needs to be around ET38 front, ET35 rear

255/40/18 lightly stretched on 18x9.5 ET35 square is also possible. in this case the lip will be 1.3mm more poke than the 9" ET30 but the tire shoulder will have 5mm less poke due to 5mm higher offset.

lately, there's a few of you asking the same fitment questions and i've grown tired of linking specific posts. this apex thread contains members with specs that you may be considering to determine poke/flush/etc...

Well my order for the Enkei Kojin in 18x8.5 et35 and 18x9.5 et45 was cancelled due to being discontinued so its back to the drawing board. My search for a good 5 spoke wheel not requiring spacers or custom offsets continues.

with your original planned rims use 225/45/18(somewhat stretched) on 18x8.5 ET30 front + 255/40/18(lightly stretched) on 18x9.5 ET35 rear OR

do 255/40/18 lightly stretched on 18x9.5 ET35 square, such as in the link below...
