U.S. Air Fuel Costs - Interesting

For the first time, an airline is disclosing its fuel costs per passenger to help consumers understand and accept higher air travel costs.

2008 - Average fuel cost per passenger $299
2007 - Average fuel cost per passenger $151
2000 - Average fuel cost per passenger $50 (according to CNBC)

Not really the consumer's problem. The industry needs to find its solution. If raising prices is the solution they should do it. Maybe it will get rid of some of the riffraff on flights.

The question is how much are you willing to pay for a flight?
3 years ago i flew from San Diego to Hawaii for $288. This year, exact same ticket is $790+tax. Am i willing to pay for it? HELL NO!

Well, we don't really know what will happen in 2009 in terms of energy prices, so as long as you are riding Southwest or have stock in Southwest you are to do very well for the next 18 months.
