Yes... a few years ago, I had my teeth professionally bleeched by my dentist. It was a treat for myself after I finally quit smoking. I took about 2 hours total, and they use peroxide and lasers. The outcome was very drastic. It made my teeth extremely sensitive though... for a couple of days. The dentist made a tray from a mold of my teeth so it is an exact fit. Now, about once every other month, I sleep with the tray in filled with a peroxide gel. It brightens them right up again. Beware though, this isn't a cheap date. The original visit was about $700. And the gel that I purchase costs about $50 per tube, which only lasts a few treatments. But, personally, I am very pleased with the outcome, and think it is worth every cent. Good luck!

It'd be awesome if your teeth matched your car!

Zoom is one of those systems that uses peroxide gel and light. I saw it at a car show of all places.

Laser's probably the way to go if you want really white. The last time I had my teeth whitened, they didn't have any of that and they just used a carbamide peroxide gel in molded trays.

I do the Listerine thing with an occasional white strip and my teeth are whiter than most. Of course, I don't drink coffee or smoke, which helps.

I understand... I am a big red wine lover, so that can do a nasty job on my teeth. I find that if I drink it within a couple of days of using the trays, it stains very quickly. But, hit it with another tray of gel, and they are back to gleeming white.

Not sure what the doctor office uses, but I'd imagine it contains hydrogen peroxide just like the strips do.

my girl uses a temporary whitener, but it works pretty good and easy to apply (most of the times).

Listerine Whitening rinse before I brush. Seems to be working so far, been using it for about 2 weeks but I don't remember what my teeth looked like before.

It all depends on the current shade of your teeth. If they are already pretty white then you won't get drastic results.

Try Britesmile, they usually have $299 specials at most dentists.

My dentist actually cautions against using teeth whitening treatments. Says it causes the enamel to pit and become more prone to staining.

I'd be interested in hearing from the dentists on this board on whether or not this is true.

we've owned a chain of dental practices since 1982, as does my uncle and cousin. I worked as a dental assistant for a year. I can forward your questions to our dentists, so ask away

I just use the epoxy sealer from Quickrete to seal the pits. Same stuff I use on the driveway.

buy a bottle of 1.99 hydrogen peroxide, put a little on your tooth brush every three days for a month and report back.

ur teeth will be whiter, and you won't be out of 100-500 bucks for the gimmicky teeth whitening bs.

my best pal is a dentist. trust me.

also, look at the ingredients in all the whitening stuff. main ing is the above!

I've also heard to simply rinse with hydrogen peroxide.

He's not kidding. I've used it before. It's not the best tasting stuff, though. I like the Listerine better.
