I will go as far as to say that the Porsche GTS would give the M3 GTS a run for it's money, if not beat it... M3 GTS is a failure

I'll take that Mexico Blue GT3 over the GTS any day. I don't think the GTS is all that special. GT3 tickles me more

Agreed. The GTS is a joke - the numbers speak for themselves.

On another note, there's a lot of "MB" blues - from bmw alone you've got montego blue, monte carlo blue, midnight blue, mineral blue, macao blue, mauritius blue, maledavian blue, montreal blue, monza blue, and maybe some others. Then you've got mexico blue , maritime blue, marine blue, midnight blue (again), meridian blue, and maybe some others from porsche.

Mexico Blue is such a sick color... I saw a 997.2 gt3 rs in Mexico blue and I was in love.

If I'm not mistaken, the GTS runs PZero Corsa tires, and the GT3 runs Pilot Sport Cups. Honestly, that alone is enough to cause that sort of gap. That's the problem with these "comparison" tests. It's not a fair comparison. Different drivers and different tires means one car has an unfair advantage.

The Cups and Corsas are both R comps so I highly doubt that's the reason for the gap.

Because all R compounds are created equal. Just like how the Pirelli PZeros are identical to the Michelin PS2s? Oh wait. Yeah, when you're talking about what looks to be a second difference with different drivers, I'm pretty sure that makes this comparison inconclusive.

I'm not really a big Porsche fan but the GT3 is pretty sick.

The GT3 is a bit lighter and has almost the same power. It was always meant to be a track car; the M3 had to be adapted to do the same task as the GT3. I'd say the pure-bred GT3 has the upper hand.

GT3 is a dime piece in that color

I'm not talking about who should theoretically win. I'm talking about how the GT3 had a one second advantage with different drivers and different tires (with the GT3's Pilot Sport Cups performing better in every tire test I've seen). That means trying to conclude a "winner" from this comparison is impossible. The results are inconclusive.

Garage List
These two cars may have been developed for the same purpose but unfortunately for the GTS it's starting point was a 3 series coupe and not one of the greatest sportscars ever to grace our roads as was the case with the GT3. There was always only going to be one outcome with this comparison, in isolation the GTS is stunning and quite remarkable but when compared with arguably the best (GT3) then it's abilities don't quite add up to the price.

That being said I do feel that the GTS looked to more composed of the two cars, probably it's 50/50 weight balance starts to work against it when the standards of performance reaches this level though.

I'll pass on the m3. DCT kills it for me. Other then that the gt3 rs is my dream car the only car that gets me excited. Again the fact that the m3 is an E92 which I dont like(because it looks way too elegant) is an other turn off. IMO the E92 only looks good in it's 335 livery luxurious with a little sporty touch to it.
