Have an extra unit of the older Mr12volt Carplay / Android Auto unit. This was the current updated DSP version right before the OEM mic integration that was released earlier this month.
It's been never installed before and sitting here.
This one has all the features except for the OEM mic integration.

For Carplay phone calls you need the external mic.
However if you prefer answering phone calls on the OEM CIC headunit you can set your phone to answer phone calls on the BMW bluetooth instead and use the Mr12volt strictly for the navigation and streaming audio.

So is this the same like the last version with the oem mic integration but missing the mic cable splitter ? Because reading about it, it’s a little confusing but there was also a a weak bass that was supposedly fixed in the latest version (and that was through hardware)

The OEM mic integration is the latest version (Teal version).
This is the (blue) version before the OEM mic integration but has the Updated DSP to fix the low bass issues people were having with the original (Black unit).
